The GB will be definitely open to North America and of course we'll have ANSI! (hell, I use ANSI)
The problem with SP is that shipping and trouble solving from the other side of the world is not easy affair (not to mention customs taxes). Can be done, but if we can buy caps from EU would be better of course.
That being said, would be nice to find a proxy per continent or at least one for US and one for Korea/Asia, but we'll think about that later.
I agree with IvanIvanovich that we should do something original. The core point here is that we are going to have full ISO support. It would be nice to reach local communities (gamers I guess?).

I always wanted the Commodore colour scheme that IvanIvanovich posted. I already voted for that in the last GMK IC.

I would love something like that for more standard modern layout. Also if you didn't want to deal with North America, I would be willing to help out.
Also like that idea, basically reverse the mod and alpha colours. Would be good to offer the mods and alphas in both colours.

Doesn't GMK == DCS?
Looks like there's several GBs in the making here, jockeying for a piece of the action. Tall spherical in any sensible colour interests me way above even the most tasty beige cylindrical. But others have the exact opposite preference.
We can all agree on Helvetica can't we? Timeless in just the right way!

No GMK = Cherry, not DCS. DCS is an SP thing and while they are somewhat similar it is definitely not the same.
I agree if go with GMK it would be best to keep the options to the bare minimum. Though I do like the concept of some alternates as well, same color mods, or some colorful accent keys. Some extra items can certainly make set more versatile if the right choices.

Right, thanks for the correction. Cherry profile is cylindrical but a good bit shorter than DCS? Anyone got a comparison photo, or the Cherry profile's equivalent of SP's DCS PDF?

The biggest differences are the bottom row of DCS is more like the old A profile of Cherry with a much deeper inward slant, and the corners of Cherry keys are square and sharp not soft rounded like SP. On average the other rows are very close in height between the 2. Also Cherry is about double thicker than SP DCS.

actually I'd prefer SA or DSA. GMK would be easier to handle from EU, that's all. Anyway full ISO support of cherry profile would be pretty nice.

if the order goes through GMK I'd have just 2 main kits: ansi+winkeyless+few extras and iso with 5/6 languages.
I asked if they could lower the MOQ of the iso kit if we order 400 ansi+extras (but I wouldn't count on it)
edit: what I mean is that we won't have many options (with gmk)

If I had to do a beige set, i.e. dark legends on a clearer keycap, I'd rather go pbt dye sub for better durability. I mean, one of the great feature of doubleshot is that you can have a clear colored legend on a dark key. The matter with SP pbt dye subs is the abs spacebar, I remember a group buy where they made light blue keycaps, but the spacebar color didn't match at all. That really spoiled the whole set in my opinion.

Going with GMK is a real paradox: although it comes from the EU it almost kills any ISO language kit due to high MOQ.
I personnally would prefer going with SP for that reason and also wider choice for blanks and such (tipro 2 unit keys for example). In my opinion the kits you had for the previous DSA GB were perfect except for regional languages support.

well from my perspective it gets way more paradox since i literally live a 30 minute ride away from where gmk produces. yet the only way of getting a set is through lysol or sherryton, of course after having the keys take a small redirection to the us and back.zulios wrote:Going with GMK is a real paradox: although it comes from the EU it almost kills any ISO language kit due to high MOQ.

Option 2 by a long long long way. Been wanting an SA group buy for a long while.
If you really want to make my decade how about a 1.25x set of arrow keys(but with text rather than symbols), a 2x Delete key, 1.5x Control and the option for 1.25x FUN and SUPER keys. Do that and I will love you long time.

Imagine this...
...with Dirge's most favourite colour scheme
I don't actually understand why GMK can't do this. I thought they bought all the molding stuff from Cherry and to be hones the key profile is amazing.
I dislike SA profile with high keys.

I think for the spherical the only size GMK has is 1, 1.5, 2, and 8 (maybe 6 and 10 too?) if I remember right. Dosen't do most people much good for modern keyboards. I guess that is probably what matt3o meant when it was said GMK can't make full sets with them.

that low-pro is so sexy... I really can't decide between SA and DSA... it's a shame GMK can't do full keyboards in low profile

Truth is, the low profile sphericals are just too low to look good on a modern keyboard like a Filco. Especially in the F-row, where they are barely taller than the frame. Of course with a frameless case keyboard like matt3o's costums you don't have that problem.
