I would buy a full grey kit and white mods if this became reality.Incognito wrote:GREY Language Packs - YESS, PLEASEfacetsesame wrote:That percentage revision gave me quite a scare!
Shame about the tooling, but with the new deadline could we raise time and money for grey language packs?
To pay, add more keys!7bit wrote:Pay as often as you like, but don't pay amounts less than $25.

7bit, do we have time to add a new kit? How about the symbol keys from round 4, but on these sweet sphericals?

The symbols where a failure and would cost quite a lot, plus I don't really want to add stuff that pushes up the prices.

Thank you for figuring that out!facetsesame wrote:Or a sufficiently helpful-feeling human who has some familiarity with the kits...kfmfe04 wrote:btw, has anyone figured out the sets needed for a Kinesis layout?
on gh http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=23446.390, I see a posting of a breakdown (towards the end of that page, there is a chart), but I'm afraid to get this to match out with Round 5 would take a computer program to figure out...
The range of keys in Round 5 allows quite a lot of this to be done as shown. All the 1.25 mods are available as are the row 4 cursor keys. However the 1.25 punctuation and the other unusual row 4 keys aren't available, and 2 unit keys aren't available in row 4, only in the steep row 1 or the symmetric row 3. The blank availability though is enough to make up the layout.
To cover the pictured layout, I would go for something like this:
HONEY/ALPHA 1 - Covers the two 5x3 alpha blocks, change for language as applicable
HONEY/NUMROW/WHITE 1 - For the row 1 numbers, also includes row 2 [ and ] keys that can mounted upside down to be the row 4 [ and ]
HONEY/MODEXTRA125 1 - For the 1.25 Tab and Caps Lock
HONEY/SHIFT125 2 - Self explanatory
HONEY/CURSOR/R4 1 - All the row 4 cursor keys!
HONEY/MOD100 1 - For the single unit Ctrls
HONEY/MODEXTRA100 1 - For the single unit Alts
HONEY/CURSORBASE 1 - Home, End, Page Up and Page Down in their standard rows
Additional required blanks:
BLANK/R3U125/GREY 4 - This includes 2 for row 1 - row 1 1.25 blanks aren't available
BLANK/R2U100/GREY 4 - Equal to and used as row 4 keys (deduct 2 if using the row 2 [ and ] keys from NUMROW/WHITE or option 2)
BLANK/R3U200/GREY 4 - (deduct 1 if using option 1b)
Options:
1a HONEY/NUMNUM/WHITE 1 - Gets you the row 2 "8" key, but no "3" is available (you could have an upside down "3" by using the "3" key in this kit)
1b HONEY/NUMPAD 1 - Same as above but also gets you a row 3 2u Enter
2 HONEY/7BIT 1 - This has two grey row 2 curly bracket keys, which could be used an alternative to the [ and ] in NUMROW/WHITE
I wonder if another route would be to take an ERGO set and add a few keys - I will use your suggestion and try to figure that out now.

Do you mean keys with a clear LED window (like the Commando set) or mods with MS WIndows logo? If the former then I'm with you. Maybe some blank (to reach MOQ) 1x keys with windows and 1.75 stepped windowed caps lock?snoopy wrote:Why we have no windowed key?

Just the one. Probably not worth your time, but if others are interested I'd take one. Actually what I'm after is regular first column but all keys in 150 width. I'll try with other kits.7bit wrote:How many will you take?doub wrote:Is there any chance we could have the MODEXTRA150 in black?

I tried to puzzle together a HONEY/FORTY/BLACK myself... but ended a bit expensive.
Would it be possible to add it without creating too many "new" keys?
my attempt was:
HONEY/REDESCAPE/R2
HONEY/CURSORBASE/BLACK (the black "DELETE" key from this kit)
HONEY/ALPHAINT/BLACK
HONEY/FUNCTION/RED (red 1.75 "TRANSMIT" key as return)
HONEY/SHIFT125/BLACK
HONEY/SHIFT175/BLACK
so now the problems start and this is the point where it gets way too expensive:
I found a FN key in HONEY/TENKLESS/GRAPHITE. this kit also has 1.25 alt and control.
still missing: 1.0 win and alt. I personally don't need a win key, so anything different would also be ok (super, meta, whatever) don't know about alt.
1.25 TAB... I don't need "TAB" on it and would replace it with command. ah, and that single dot. maybe just a .: from HONEY/INTER/BLACK
ok, after reading through my crap again.... maybe its too special and I should wait for leftovers and build it myself or just forget it

Sucker!
I added a TENKLESS/WHITE because I'm an optimistic fool. And I see in my invoice that TENKLESS/RED is more popular than the classic TENKLESS. I have all of them ordered. Let's see if we can get those prices down, eh?

I really don't understand why people order the ERGO/*/WHITE kits and then delete them again, once the prices went down.
