I wanted to write a full videos/photo post, but i'm waiting for the custom cable...
the pcb and case were modded by others, i painted the top in grey/gold, sanded the gold, the bottom is creamy. Like a ncr case.

It's a set from this group buy 4, with a custom layout called bépo (a french nerd layout).

But unfortunately SP still doesn't want to place the upper signs on left even if there is only two...

The FR azerty kit is way better. With one more keycap µ/* .
I suggest you finish painting your keyboard and arrange F1-F12 in the following way:
Code: Select all
F1 F3 F5 F7 F9 F11
F2 F3 F6 F8 F10 F12

Mmmm, there's lot of those in ebay... why saw the trackball? Seems like a good idea to save going to the mouse...

Resolution of the trackball is really low compared to a mouse and it's not nice to use instead of a mouse. These are meant in a rackmount to control a server.hsu wrote:Mmmm, there's lot of those in ebay... why saw the trackball? Seems like a good idea to save going to the mouse...
So might as well just make it TKL and have a awesome compact keyboard

It does not look finished. I suggest you post a thread showing a photo of your keyboard and ask: What is wrong with this keyboard?Gilgam wrote:![]()

I'm quite sure most will tell you that either the Function keys must be rearranged, or the key caps are put on randomly, or the case-painting is only about 80% finished.

Yes you have to roll and roll and roll to go to the opther side of the screen, but it can help. I sometimeshave ScST 3200 dpi on left and a compaq mx11800 on the rightdomin8r wrote: Resolution of the trackball is really low compared to a mouse and it's not nice to use instead of a mouse. Shipment came yesterday. Looks awesome. Thanks for all the work.
But I think my shipment has errors. It might be missing a couple keycaps. What shall I do?

Two large imsto o-rings work perfectly. I could have just used one, but in my mind the added bulk/weight has a good feeling.hsu wrote:Did anyone try O-rings on the sphericals?

W and S are part of STANDARD to ALPHA and are not part of BEPO, which is only an add-on kit. like any of FR, COLEMAK or DVORAK etc.
The T is OK, what I see is really wrong is the deep-dish E which I should have ordered as a deep dish E €.

Just received my order yesterday
really happy !
I have too many keys in at least one SPH/TKLFR kit, and I am missing keys in the SPH/FUNCTION kits (no UNDO, COPY, CUT, PASTE, probably some others as well but did not compare everything yet...). Are you awaiting replacements for those ?

Ok thanks my ignorance is at fault then. I was basing my assessment off the BEPO layout from the Round 4 wiki. All is good!

Oh no, these o-rings are about twice the size of those.
Put some more caps on. R3 orange had 2 extra 1u backslashes. Anyone missing them?
Not sure that i'm digging the media keys though. Damn my lack of foresight!
Fuck yeah though. I have no wants for at least a week with these sets.

Let me guess: one |\ is for row 3 and one for row 4.blighty wrote:Put some more caps on. R3 orange had 2 extra 1u backslashes. Anyone missing them?
....
You need the row 3 one for ANSI keyboards and the row 4 one for keyboards with big ass Enter and the |\ right of right Shift.

I've taken them out because they are already in SPH/TERMINAL, but had forgotten to update the graphic in the wiki.

SPH + o-rings + MX Black = silent heaven. Feels good to type on. I actually like the slight gap on the SHIF T and RETURN keys. Hitting the BACK SPACE feels a bit odd due to +/= key's sculpted profile, but not a bad thing. Once again, thanks!

@7bit: no big deal I had ordered a few blanks just in case. Might be harder for some other people sadly. And before I forget thanks again for everything, only GB I've seen so far that could handle so many options at once, including language kits ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
@blighty : did you notice a difference between SA/SPH caps and DCS/OEM in force / use comfort ? I'm interested in getting other MX black users' feedback to see if they get the same first impression as I do.
