Just for asking, I don't remember watched this question so why prices are not the same for plate mounted and all NW are at the same price ? because of difference of production size ?
I'm just trying to consider if my DIY KB should have a mounting plate or not.
which one : PCB or plate mounted ?Everyone order MX browns, they are becoming rare because of logitech orders

I did order only a few of the PCB-mountables (NW) because there where so few orders.Vierax wrote:Just for asking, I don't remember watched this question so why prices are not the same for plate mounted and all NW are at the same price ? because of difference of production size ?

If you go with a Hyper keyboard, no matter which size, there is no other choice as plate mounted.
The PCBs will have too many holes anyway!

It might be the fact there is more and more users which have plate mounted KBs and I understand why when I see this http://deskthority.net/keyboards-f2/thi ... t4193.html

No I wasn't thinking about Hyper, I knew it's a PlateM-only, but about my own PCB design for a prototype (something nearer ErgoDox http://bepo.fr/wiki/Fichier:Protofauvix1.svg)

Your ErgoVierax keyboard looks as messy as the Bepo layout itself.Vierax wrote:

LOL troll inside I see.
Maybe that's because I always make an "organized mess" on my room
It looks messy because of the full bépo layout with all four layers. The Neo2 should looks messier with 6 layers ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
But I'll do an english thread in DT to explain the choices, with a simplified qwerty layout to have a nice PNG, and maybe it will evolve again with some fresh looks![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
BTW "ErgoVierax" makes me loudly laugh.

Payments from jcrouse and mm87 have been received and marked as shipped for Paypal purposes (to keep them from locking up the PP account). Invoices may or may not reflect the payments yet. Keep checking this thread for the actual ship date(s). This only includes payments to me via Paypal. Note that the address on your Paypal notifications/notes are not necessarily the addresses 7bit will ship your switches to, he ships to the address on your invoice.

Sorry if I'm missing something here, but why are there separate orders for PCB vs Plate mounted switches?
Once you dig under the plate and desolder them, shouldn't they be the exact same switches?

PCB has two additional pins and two additional "plastic pins" (for stability)

Thanks for the clarification.mintberryminuscrunch wrote:PCB has two additional pins and two additional "plastic pins" (for stability)
However, if you're doing a cover lift mod (removing the only top half of the switch without desoldering) does it matter how many pins you have on the bottom?
Or are the switches designed in a totally different architecture?
(My KB is a Plate mount, so I know I'll be ordering the plate mounted switches in the future, but just out of curiosity as I've never owned a PCB mounted KB before)

If your are just swapping tops of the switches, you can buy whatever. The only difference between plate mounted and pcb mounted are the two additional wee plastic tabs on the bottom of the switch. if you had pcb switches and you wanted to use them on a plate mount board, you would just snip the two small plastic nubs off.GodofTroll wrote:Thanks for the clarification.mintberryminuscrunch wrote:PCB has two additional pins and two additional "plastic pins" (for stability)

Did you send that updated invoice? I haven't gotten any email. Should I resubmit my request through a PM to CherryMX?7bit wrote:Yes, there is some reserve. I will update your invoice ...AloisiusFauxly wrote:Just submitted a PM for 80 of MXBROWN/NW and got an invoice which shows a qty of 74.

How long does it usually take to ship to the US? It's been almost two weeks.

I had some orders lying around for quite a while, but they are all shipped by now.
If I don't hear a definite date about the arrival of the MXGREYs I will ship those orders next week without the greys.

Now that your light package has been blown away, you regret that you didn't order more.bnitch wrote:Not recived yet but the storm may have something to do with it.
