Either way works for me honestly, paypal works very fast with my bank fortunately if you'd go for that way.7bit wrote: ↑As soon as I have EUR money, I will refund everybody who wants a refund.

Is this buy still open? Or, did it fail and money is being refunded?

Why all the kits of Round 7 have been cleared from my order list?
And my list now just shows Round 6 and leftover yet to be shipped, and the extra amount of money I paid, in case the Round 7 kits are not ordered.
Is there some change of plan by 7bit?
Also, I paid up these Round 7 at the end of 2016 with a higher percent of rebate.
What is actually happening?

This is exactly what happened to me too. I know this buy is still up in the air, but I'm not entirely sure why my order was cleared.Menuhin wrote:Why all the kits of Round 7 have been cleared from my order list?

Okay, if 7bit does not love me for one reason or another.
He does not love not only me too..
What's up with Melissa then? I checked out the Pimpmykeyboard "What's New" page and the statement is no longer there either because it is old to still be on the What's New page or that some of us sent Melissa Easter bunny chocolate and she has changed her mind.
I am still in support of this creation as long as 7bit lives and that he wants to continue it somewhere. Basically these sets (Hall effect, Space Cadet, in the correct (or close enough) profile) are some of the only few ways to live the dream of computing during college, especially for those who worked on or studied the related systems a little bit.
I will be so moved and thankful for the keyboard god if I can touch a Space Cadet-like keyboard every day or every now and then to write Lisp code.

7bit is out of town until April 10, so you're not going to get any answers until at least then.
As I recall, the current status of R7 is that it is on hold pending cooperation with SP.
@Menuhin, did you not cop a R6 CADET set?

I didn't.
I spent quite some time on compiling a list of what I want from Round 7 and also revisited a few times to add kits to the order. I always hope for a complete set, because the set is so sacred for me (as I worship Lisp and the set reflects its history in almost its original color and profile) and I already ordered some before the SP's "What's New" incident.
Round 6 Cappening is one of my favorite keyboard porn thread.

I think the more honest way to put it is that R7 is dead in its current form. I mean, everyone is free to hold out hope that SP will change their mind, but there is no indication that they have (and no reason to think they will) and so R7 is as dead now as it was two months ago. The fact that everyone's R7 orders have been cleared is as good a confirmation of this as any in my view.krutmob wrote: ↑ As I recall, the current status of R7 is that it is on hold pending cooperation with SP.

We will see what plan and strategy 7bit may have then.
On Pimpmykeyboard's "What's New" there is a long post about having to pay upfront before one can schedule a spot for production, I am not sure if the message is especially related to the Round. When I think about it, there money collection period for Groupbuys in GH are mostly quite short, some last for only two weeks or so. I wonder what is the major reason for the Rounds here taking longer time then those (e.g. There was lower traffic in DT). And what strategies we can use to speed up the process.

I just saw a Round6 CADET set go for $140 on /mm. You should keep a keen eye out there.Menuhin wrote: ↑words
Yeah... there is so much we don't know about the SP thing though. I agree about the order clearance--but what happens when someone tries to order R7 caps now? Does the order go through? Can they pay me for it? Who wants to volunteer as tribute?zslane wrote: ↑ I think the more honest way to put it is that R7 is dead in its current form. This probably isn't the right place to post this, but i'm happy to take some guidance on what the best way to get support is. I was shipped the wrong kit for my R6 order (ISO mods instead of ANSI mods). I sent an email to to the only address I've ever gotten email from on the subject but haven't heard anything back. I dug through a bunch of the forum posts and while there's a significant amount of information about how to place an order, I'm not finding much on "help you shipped me the wrong thing". Any thoughts?

Just PM 7bit (not 7bot). He might need a few reminders before he answers, but you'll eventually get your stuff. Right now he's out of town, so you'll probably not hear anything until after the 10th of april.sethbc wrote:This probably isn't the right place to post this, but i'm happy to take some guidance on what the best way to get support is. I have to ask, and I hope I get a good response. Is it too late to order a R7 Kit? AND should I even order after everything I read? Thanks!

If you place an order for R7 there is a good chance you won't get an invoice with payment instructions. And even if for some reason you do get payment instructions and you make a payment, it will only get refunded to you.Koobaczech wrote: ↑I have to ask, and I hope I get a good response. These are the amounts of each color ordered so far:
If we are quick, we can get a production spot in spring 2018. I know this is in only one year, but if we wait for too long it will be end of 2018.
I would prefer to start with VIOLETT and CREAMVIOLETT and maybe GREY and CREAM. Any other color will be produced at a later time.
BTW: I might have to refine the kits a little and some keys might not make it, because of lack of interest.
Code: Select all
GREY : 7305
VIOLETT : 5041
BLUE : 3175
RED : 1452
GREEN : 902

What a good news! Exactly as I said: just stay patient, we will recieve Round 7 keycaps just like round 4, round 5 and round 6. I keep my Round 7 orders, so I get the rebate on Round 7 preorder. How lucky!!!7bit wrote: ↑These are the amounts of each color ordered so far:If we are quick, we can get a production spot in spring 2018. I am quite confused.
I and quite a few members have all their Round 7 kits cleared off their order list automatically one month or so ago.
My list of Round 7 kits cost about $200, including some of the early 25% off rebate I got by paying early in the year.
Why this procedure was done to those ordered Round 7 and paid?
I know 7bit was unsure how and how hard he is going to push for a strategy that allow the production of Round 7. The Round 7 kits being cleared off my list gave me an impression that Round 7 is not going to happen. But then announcements made recently also let me realize I and those members who paid early for Round 7 but have their list cleared have to pay more when they add those kits back into their order lists again, in case Round 7 is going to make it after Round 6 is finally completed in the last quarter of 2017.

Here is your chance, I think 7bit is now determined to make it happen.
Please order 20 or 40+ sets and pay as soon as you financially can afford in EURO or RMB converted to EURO.
Round 7 caps are going to be very valuable in the future, you can keep one set for yourself, one set for your children and a few set for your friends, and then sell the rest of them and you will still earn some money.
I will definitely have a set in my life.

I never thought about getting a refund until the order of Round 7 kits was cleared from my list, and then the e-mails from 7bot say: "... You have got 214.25 USD in your account. Please order more or ask for a refund. ..."7bit wrote: ↑Didn't you want a refund?Menuhin wrote: ↑I am quite confused.

Suddenly I realize, ah... perhaps I can make use of the money to pay my debt bills and my fines bills from Finanzamt.
And then I consulted a few members who are experienced and supporting the Rounds about how they evaluate the situation and what I should do.
I literally support the Rounds to the degree that I don't have enough money to buy food and to pay my bills.
