due to the large amount of vintage blacks...about 0,10 € per switch. ,15 to 0,20 for brand new ones.Magna224 wrote:How much should 103 MX Black switches sell for? Thanks.

I actually find the chOcony kb 5182 more interesting then the dell...that board could be anything from cherry, alps, to futabas...chicony boards are my favorite buy when I want a surprise.kbdfr wrote:rodtang wrote:How much would you pay for a used Dell AT 102 DW (AT102W?) Here is an image of it

i bought a black alps dell for 1€ + shipping at ebay, but for me it is more worth, cause i do like alps and the most germans buy model m and blue cherries. probably because they have a lack of information
if you look at the pic of the dell, you can see a transparent plastic above the leds. so the keyboard should be in very good shape

i own both and believe me, the dell is the much more interesting keyboard. the chicony (smk switches) is very loud and clicks two times. one click on the downmove and one on the up. sounds like you're typing really fast with turbosound

I have a white alps keyboard, never used it and it is kinda broken but I like the feel of it even though it seems to need some lube.Orange8 wrote:i bought a black alps dell for 1€ + shipping at ebay, but for me it is more worth, cause i do like alps and the most germans buy model m and blue cherries. probably because they have a lack of information

Hey guys, found a nice keyboard at a thrift shop and I thought I'd ask some of the experts here if they know anything about it! I've test driven it for a couple weeks and I think it's just too loud for me (and my lady when she's sleeping...). I was looking at the MX brown Leopolds and that might be right up my alley. Even the blues don't seem too loud from typing on one in a store. I'm also interested in something smaller like the TKL models because desk space is at a premium in my place!
It's an Ambra Model M "Manufactured by Lexmark" "Made in the USA" December 93.
It appears to be buckling springs but I really don't know anything about it to be honest....
It's very clean (on the outside anyways, who knows about the inside), I gave it a quick wipe and it looks almost good as new. There's minor scuffing on the bottom but nothing major. It works perfectly and sounds great, just a little loud for my taste.
Anyways, here are some pics. If there's anything you can tell me about this keyboard I would appreciate it, Thanks!

It's a Model M! The King of Keyboards. The Awakener of Fair Ladies. The Bringer of Divorce. Too loud? Bah! It is the sound of work. The manly work of a manly man using a manly tool of intellect and science - and of literature and manly poetry about conquest and the awakening of fair ladies without consent. Yes!

Also, are the stems of a MY switch keycap compatible with MX switches?
