Changed to R1 only, as I managed to buy R2.
R1 87u 55 - holy grail of topre keyboards![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
There were few of those for sale on reddit but US based and they don't want to post further to EU...

They are pretty expensive and hard to come by usually. I recently built two realforce 86U boards using parts from a realforce 103, realforce 91u case, a custom pcb and a steel plate I had cut for it. Surprisingly easier to do that than find an original 86u

I have both yellow and black versions, the yellow seems to work a bit better with OEM plate screw holes.
You could also buy a custom pcb on cipulots discord server, though the orders are a bit slower

What, and miss out on the wind up?
Does the ML-a-majig say if it's QMK or some proprietary firmware? Don't know enough about VIA to know if it only runs on (and therefore means) QMK. Only bare QMK is tempting for me. VIA and VIAL not so much.

I don’t know anything about firmware but I do know it runs on via.
I bought it to create a realforce 86u, I suppose you could upgrade an old 86u if you had one to enable key remappings, but if you do then sell me your old PCB
i destroyed realforce 101/3s and 91us just to get a black and white 86u

The R1 has an extended top lip with the realforce logo on the top left.Scarpia wrote: 01 Jan 2023, 21:18 Out of curiosity, how would I check if my Realforce is an R1 model?
The R2 edges sit pretty close to the edges of the keycaps and the logo is on the top right side.
Here is a comparison video

Cool, I have the R1 then. I’m currently using it as a daily driver though :-/ …but only because it’s quieter than my Model F, my SSKs, and my SKCM Brown Alps TKL, all of which I would rather use. But I share my office with my partner and the WAF is unfortunately really low on those boards.
But I’m hoping to build a quieter custom board in 2023 and once I have something to replace it with I promise to put the Realforce for sale here.

Yeah, that one sounds heavily modded plus some rust issues, I want to grab a stock one, no lubing, no modding.Scarpia wrote: 02 Jan 2023, 18:17 Btw there’s one on MechMarket for $175: https://www.reddit.com/r/mechmarket/com ... rds_etc_w/

Problem with those R1 87u55 keyboards is that they come up for sale only in US for $150-200, but they do not want to post to Europe.
Or if you find one, posting is $100...![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)
Its all on reddit and I do not trust those people.
