Nice, that's the way to take pictures of a keyboard .. opening it right up :D

Honestly, this is the first filco that I don't like.

Wow!

They almost copied my 7BIT-layout.

I really have to start the work on the Hyper keyboard, not that someone else comes before me!

@rzwv: Best non-community small keyboard ever!

Really, if you need to attach a blob to your case in 2013 to make the usb or whatever fit it's really lame. I don't see a random bulge like that on tablets to fit a connector or chip, to name an example. That stuff should have gone underneath the pcb.

My favorite part about this keyboard are the Fn layer arrows directly under your left hand on the home row. I can see myself using a combination of the dedicated arrow keys and the Fn layer arrow keys depending on how much text editing I'm doing at the time. Also, having gotten used to the Pure's Fn button placement, I imagine the Minila's Fn keys are even easier to reach as you won't have to curl your thumb quite as much. I also already use the pipe key for backspace, so the dip switches will be quite useful for me.

The only reservations I have with this keyboard are the small R-Shift key and the fact that finding replacement keycaps will be tough in most cases and impossible in other cases (spacebar mainly). However, if I were to use this keyboard, it would be as a main work board and I like keeping a low key look and maintain the Fn layer legends. I'm willing to sacrifice some functionality for looks at home, but at the office there's no need to stumble around the keys when I forget the Fn layer layout.

While the case is a little odd looking, at least it differentiates itself. I can dig it.

Yes, new 60% boards are cool, but that whole right-hand corner is messed up. 1x shift, nonsensical Del and a 1x Backspace... ugh. Going the Poker route to integrate the arrow cluster would've been a better idea, even if it means non 1x arrows.

7bit: Make the hyper fit this case! Filco cases are much better quality than Poker cases. At least that is true for the normal Filco TKLs.

Especially when said bulge is big enough to fit an entire row of function keys.
This board is closer to a 75% than a 60%.

Whats the point in sacrificing an entire row of keys if you don't get that space back on your desk?

It's not really about desk space, just about aesthetics. :)

But if its going to take up that extra rows worth of space on your desk, it mareswell have some keys on it :)

Well, but it doesn't take up that much extra space and even if it did with-keys look different from without-keys so people might still prefer the look of the latter. :)

I also remember at least one post where somebody said he liked the large margin on some board. :)

Maybe extra rows on top would be cool, though. Giving the board sides a golden ratio would be worth a try.

The only key cap which would be hard to find is the space bar.

I like most things about this board, but I would have a fit with that small right shift key. Pinky finger don't like small keys.

Also, I propose switching the delete key and the pipe/backslash key.

Hmm the look is starting to grow on me. Definitely a drastic change to say the least. Hopefully the quality is on par with the rest of their boards.
