KMAC stainless steel housing

I've made this stainless steel version of housing for just testing latest version of KMAC PCB(version 1.3) which will be used for the first KMAC distribution.
The housing has been made of stainless steel(top and bottom cover) and acrylic plastic.

Spoiler:

FYI, KMAC PCB's(winkey/winkeyless) have the following features.
- Old cherry, Filco layouts are supported ( not compatible with Filco housing and metal plate )
- 6 KRO in USB mode( PS/2 mode for NKRO is being developed but not supported in the first KMAC distribution )
- All function keys(F11 ~ F12) has hardware macro functionalities.
- ASDW LED can be on/off through any key which can be specified through KMAC tools( macro editor and firmware upload through USB port but not a ISP uploader).
- All the keys can be remapped by KMAC tools

And also there are a bunch of other functionalities.

The first GB is closed a month ago and the next GB will be opened next Febuary or later.

I guess it may be possible to get it from the next GB.

Actually, the main obstacle for international GB is a difficulty of the warranty of Aluminum shell and PCB due to the international shipping fees and tax issues.
Because, the KMAC project members including me do not make the keyboard for commercial product.
We just enjoy it just as a hobby.

Nevertheless, the cost of KMAC would be a little bit expensive except for the international shipping/handling fees and tax.

Very nice! There is no tax importing into the USA.

. But I suppose sending parts back to South Korea could incur tax.

What kind of screws and nuts do you use for the case?

Just like jpm804 said we would love to get in on a GB if possible, we would cover all necessary cost, as some of us wouldn't mind paying a bit extra (tax, shipping etc) to get our hands on one of these

I got in the first GB! It was long and hard. I had to learn the Korean language, traditions and history. 뜻이 있는 곳에 길이 있다! I then had to enter an initiation camp for 6 months, and needed to end top in my group to qualify. This involved beating other candidates in direct combat.

Ditto on this comment... also if it would be easier to ship to one person here in the states and they can distribute out. I think we could get someone to handle this part..

Yeah, you are the only one who has joined the first KMAC GB from overseas.
And I think you deserve it and I love your enthusiasm for keyboards.

Thanks for all your interests in KMAC.

There were a few guys who wanted to be KMAC distributor in US and Europe so the KMAC project members are very carefully considering the international group buy in the next GB.

As I mentioned several times in my previous posts, however, we have some concerns about the international shipping, quality assurance and tax issues because all of project members are not a professional traders at all and they just love keyboards
And also we have a day job so actually it's hard and difficult to manage GB even internally.

Anyway, I have to talk with other members about a possibility and detailed plan for international GB.

FYI, KMAC project of KBDMania will be continued with some brand new color of shells.
I'll keep posting any updates on KMAC here in DT.

I'd love to just join the Korean Group buy since shipping the keyboards from Korea to Malaysia is cheaper, and really really fast.

Hopefully you are able to overcome the problems for that international group buy.
Very beautiful work there, i'll be watching for updates.
