You know that prices will go up again for genuine cherry red escape caps.
Collectors will distinguish between those and replica caps

And that will be good002 wrote:While that might be true, I doubt we'll ever see prices as high as they were before GMK came along.

That is very unlikely!Noxwood wrote:... They switched molds, apparently.
starting with the unnecessary costs of making a new mold etc.
different sprue marks, different first shot base etc. are easily achieved with minor changes in the production circle
watch the sp second shot video and you can see how easy you can get different results with minor changes (though I'm pretty sure the cherry 2-shot production is more automated...)

Moulds get replaced from time to time. The new GMK red Esc looks identical to a recent Cherry white-on-black Esc, down to the position of the sprue and the odd missing rib. And presumably the old red Esc looks identical to the other Escs made at that time, whenever it was.
Where did the originals come from?
There's the WNV red Esc, but I'd guess since that's late 2009 that would be the same as the new style GMK Esc

Maybe a few month ago, but not so sure now. Many people have realized it's not so special now that GMK is known about. People know that it's possible to re-run anything that is rare. Then again there are a few that seem to have very very deep pockets and little patience...
In any case they can't get them from me because I actually won't sell it.
