Impressive!

Only the stool looks a bit "humble" for such a desk.

I bet that one's for the cat and the real chair was pulled back for the photo-op.
I thought that, too - hence the green smiley.depletedvespene wrote: 20 Mar 2019, 13:39I bet that one's for the cat and the real chair was pulled back for the photo-op.![]()
It turned out to be very beautiful. There is a difference to the plastic, which is darker, but it was a good choice to let this do professionally.tron wrote: 20 Mar 2019, 14:50 Wow, the powder coat turned out really nice. Looks like it's fresh off the assembly line![]()
Thanks for the kind words. I am definitely feeling fortunate being able collecting all those items in my office...AJM wrote: 20 Mar 2019, 14:11I thought that, too - hence the green smiley.depletedvespene wrote: 20 Mar 2019, 13:39I bet that one's for the cat and the real chair was pulled back for the photo-op.![]()

A terrible idea, indeed. No vertical monitor?!lhutton wrote: 29 Apr 2019, 06:24 This was either the best or worst idea I've ever had, not sure which yet ...

The viewing angle usually gets me there, seems most LCDs are made for the landscape orientation and have odd color/contrast shifts the other way. Could be I'm just picky. Since summer is rolling in I think I'm going to take this setup down though and go down to just dual 27" on the desktop and maybe that 27" for my laptop. Six displays seriously put out the heat, not to mention the extra heat from the extra graphics card in my box running those top 25" displays. Was nice during the winter though!depletedvespene wrote: 29 Apr 2019, 15:21A terrible idea, indeed. Come to think of it, the chair under my butt right now was manufactured in 1983. It's older than (almost) all the computer hardware I got. I don't know how much it did cost back in the day, but it's paid for itself several times over, I'd say.SlowTyper wrote: 08 May 2019, 11:00 By looking into 30 pages of this topic, I realized some people have more expensive keyboards than desk and chair. Strange priorities.
I like this. What's with the reminder to "eat mor chikin"?
Very nice.Scarpia wrote: 20 Aug 2018, 07:51 Can’t resist posting this, finally finished my Zenith/AEG laptop build so this is going to be my desktop for a while now.

The desk is facing a mirrored closet containing another 25 or so computers and keyboards.
Too bad. You could have become rich by hiring John Malkovich, telling him to imagine a keyboard with X, X and X features, and then picking it up.mr_a500 wrote: 26 Jul 2019, 18:58 (no, that little door behind the desk does not go into John Malkovich's head).
You mean the 800XL or the 600XL? (I also have 2 more 800XLs and 1 NOS in box 800XL) Notice there is a SDrive NUXX attached to the 800XL. (and a NOS Tac 2 joystick)
I only see the 800XL on the right side of the picture, resting above the Amiga.
Yes, that's my (NOS) ALPS SKFL 800XL. Sitting on the Kaypro "New 2", there's Futaba ML 600XL.depletedvespene wrote: 26 Jul 2019, 23:02I only see the 800XL on the right side of the picture, resting above the Amiga.
