I like it. Reminds me of a brass plate or even a bit like the color of the zinc plated beamspring plates. I have a couple plates I want to have professionally done but haven't settled on the color or the type of paint yet.

Well yeah but it’s hidden under keycaps so it just looks like a brass plate

Nice. That sounds about right. I’ve thought of putting a full sized BS on mine but keeping the BAE

Heh, if I ever get an F AT, BAE is staying but I am going to add full-size backspace.ddrfraser1 wrote: ↑30 May 2020, 15:41Nice. That sounds about right. I’ve thought of putting a full sized BS on mine but keeping the BAE

Forgive my ignorance, may I ask what's BAE?kelvinhall05 wrote: ↑30 May 2020, 15:44Heh, if I ever get an F AT, BAE is staying but I am going to add full-size backspace.ddrfraser1 wrote: ↑30 May 2020, 15:41Nice. "Big Ass Enter" — the enormous Enter key that the F AT introduced to the world and keeps on living, despite it deserving to die already.

Heh, BAE is great, the real problem is that most keyboards tend to pair it with a tiny backspacedepletedvespene wrote: ↑30 May 2020, 16:06"Big Ass Enter" — the enormous Enter key that the F AT introduced to the world and keeps on living, despite it deserving to die already.

And 2.59 kg in 19th Century (*) units as well... which is precisely the point.

That is indeed the true sin of the BAE: the 1U Backspace.kelvinhall05 wrote: ↑30 May 2020, 16:17Heh, BAE is great, the real problem is that most keyboards tend to pair it with a tiny backspacedepletedvespene wrote: ↑30 May 2020, 16:06"Big Ass Enter" — the enormous Enter key that the F AT introduced to the world and keeps on living, despite it deserving to die already.
Not that it fully excuses the BAE from taking an excessive amount of space in the alpha block, which should be used for more keys.

Shame the Thai legends are quite worn :/ As a Thai person myself, I'm conflicted in using the WASD keys without the Thai legends being on there too. Nice numpad legends though, though it's kind of weird of the symbols being on just 3, 4, and 8Fkazim wrote: ↑31 May 2020, 12:16IMG_20200526_153442.jpg

This is my daily driver ISO modded, floss modded and lightened spacebar IBM Model F AT. The modifiers are the Unicomp RGB set. The red WASD are also Unicomp caps. The alpha keys are from a terminal Model M and so are the num pad keys. Hope you guys like it.

The Thai legends are not that worn. It's just my bad photography skills
Here is a better picture hope that better shows the Thai sublegends.

Ah, the different colors! Yeah, Thai IBM caps in general are really weird...
So far I've owned three Thai Model M sets, knowing at least 3 more colors/types exist...
Thai IBM stuff is a thing to be reckoned with, hahaha

So many questions...is it like, a painted Omnikey Ultra? But it has winkeys, and I thought only the last 101-key Omnis could come with those...whaaaddrfraser1 wrote: ↑15 Jun 2020, 17:34Taking this unique guy out for a spin.

Nope, it's not painted. It's a black case. I has a nice black metal back plate as well. It's called the Creative Vision Technologies (CVT) Avant Stellar keyboard. Serial number 7008177 same as Northgate Omnikey Ultra 117.kelvinhall05 wrote: ↑15 Jun 2020, 17:56So many questions...is it like, a painted Omnikey Ultra? They are from the Realforce model 108UG-JS ZH0400. The 108UW ZH0300 comes with cream alphas and grey modifiers (same tone as these). These are JustSystems promotional limited edition models which come with the red modifier keys.
There are also vintage OEM model keyboards from Topre that have these caps. Most famous example being the Nissho KB106DE, but there's also the Juki and Hatsuko models along with others.
These are all rather hard to source now and the demand is such that you can expect to pay a lot. Pre-late 2017, these weren't so expensive. Now they're typically in the high hundreds (700+ USD) into low 1000 range, depending on the market.
The cheapest ones you can get are the US market 104UG (no sublegends, all grey), the standard model JIS 108UG (no sublegends, all grey), and the Korean market 104UK (ANSI, cream alpha, grey mod, korean hangul sublegends).
These are not cheap either, and as production has ceased for them, the prices won't stay low. Expect around 270+ on average for the US model, around the same for the JIS, and the 104UK a bit higher. Expect a lot of price variation on places like eBay.
