Get VMWare. I run Arch in VMWare for when I need to do Linux-y things on my Macs.

That reminds me that I wanted to know how you made your case.

Did you post more information than in this article on GH somewhere?

I use MAGIC! But nah, that case is pretty easy; Aluminium u-profile epoxied to the mounting plate, drilled some holes in the bottom of the profile and press-fitted some nice thread thingies in there so the bottom can be secured with screws and bob's your uncle!

And no, there's not much more to tell really.... im still waiting for my chameleon controller, still need a Raspberry PI but i did just receive my bluetooth module today ;)

shame how the pics on your main article are fine, but on your 'book' they require login..

BWAAHAHAHA. AWESOME! :D

So basically just profiles for sides and a plate screwed to the bottom. I like it, nice and simple.

Two questions:
1. The thread is the "inside of a nut" if I understand this correctly so what does that mean for your drawing?
2. How did you cut the profiles on angle? Any special tools to get it accurate?

Basically yeah, you could use the inside of a nut for this but i used those little things that you used to find on the sides of serial ports... cuz... well, i still had half a million of those and you can kind of cut those to length pretty nicely (unlike nuts) ;) I cut those just on the large side and then hammered em inside the profile and added some left over epoxy for good measure so they will never ever move. Find nice tapered screws to fit em, countersink the holes in the bottom plate and its all good!

Saw to cut, bench-grinder and files to get it accurate (aluminium is really really soft so very easy to work with)

Yup, and it looks like mice have been in there so I'm laying traps today :( how they get all the way up I'll never know!

It's quite big, you can stand up in there no problem, had 3 velux's put in there and some strip lighting. Need to board it out this year.

Thanks, yeah the desk is massive, I bought it for my old dual screen setup. It looks kinda silly now.

I'm slowly getting used to the portrait 24" monitor; it's still a little bit on the tall side, it would be better with 19".

Portrait is pretty amazing. I sold my old monitor and got an IPS (well, 2 actually) just to be able to do that.
