I was trying to get people excited for no reason. Check the spoiler. Looks like it didn't work

Look at that switch Redmaus, not really what you want is it? That commercial seller has tons of super high roller offers all the time like this:

I've noticed a lot of Industrial suppliers doing this, pricing their items sky-high even if there's no collector market for them. Many do OBO but won't even budge on the price :x

Oh man, I'm glad I checked this thread out. Im also glad that I'm not the only one who thinks some of these keyboard prices are crazy expensive.

It's really gotten out of control in the last four to five months more or less. And yes DT, GH and Reddit and a few others are all partially to blame. Once enough sellers realize what they might be able to sell some old keyboard for that's it...

Makes me wonder if this is just a temporary craze, or if blue Alps are just going to keep increasing as time passes.

I hope it dies down sooner or later. Wishful thinking I suppose..

No I don't think they will go much higher, on the other hand I would never have thought that people would spend 600+ on some Alps keyboard. Insane.

Great heavens above! I have at least 2 Leading Edge DC-2014 that are complete and not yellowed. $475 is outrageous! Beam springs do not sell for that much!

That DC-2014 had a solid blue badge. Rare item?

I have at least 12-15 Alps in good shape, various colors. They will come home with me tomorrow. But seriously, why such a high price? Green, yellow, blue, white, salmon, etc. They feel nice, that's true. But this is insanity. If blue Alps are $475, what does that make a model F 104 or 62 or 77 worth? At some point, people must realize that a keyboard is not worth that kind of expense. You could buy a new laptop or tablet, an excellent bicycle, etc., if you wanted to spend that much.

They aren't.. Really, it's a temporary absurdity that should pass quickly. They aren't even bloody rare.

The thing to remember is that there are however many thousands of active enthusiasts and only a few blue Alps keyboards available on eBay at any given time. They aren't terribly rare, but they are rare enough that just a handful of buyers can completely alter the market, maybe only temporarily.

The reason why is because many people like to use these switches in flashy korean customs among other things. You can't do that with buckling spring. I remember itzmeluigi mentioning a korean collector interested in this Acer board that already had 3.

Also I need to inquire about those alps when I sort with you tomorrow. I am currently looking for some green alps for my V80 keyboard.

Holy shit. I guess I got really lucky with my Datapoint KB101A. I did not once for a second think that it could come with something that WASN'T EVEN ALPS! :o

Then again, I can't even clearly see the label on the keyboard in this listing. Mine said Acer on it and the FCC ID sticker had the same format as standard KB101A and AS models. This one seems different, but still! THIS COULD HAVE FOOLED SO MANY.

Seller did the right thing though, but he shouldn't have. It could've been a deterrent! :P

It's all relative to the beholder, I guess. The people in the market for these blue Alps boards are probably not the same who are in the market for IBM keyboards. I hear that the Korean community does not care much for IBM keyboards. Since Japan had its own IBM division, they might care a bit. But yeah, different appeals for different communities.

Some members I've met in the Korean community don't even consider switches other than Salmon and Blue to be REAL Alps switches.

I should say that, myself, while I admire the IBM boards, I don't really care to own any.

Three random keyboards, one Mitsumi Hybrid or rubberdome, one with some sort of white alps or clones and no idea on the third.

What the hell? What's relisted though? Where did this enigma come from? This is blowing my mind (mainly because the cable and everything else being in such good shape except for the missing end connector!).

I thought this was that grungy DC-3014 at first, but then I realized it was a DC-2014.

Nah, those are model M's. 4704s are F's with metal cases. I've got some 49 key model M's which you can add the extra key to without caps including the necessary Soarer's converter for about that price if anyone is interested :)

My first thought was that it was one of those leading edge boards that was shill bid and relisted, but apparently that's not the case...no idea what's up with that connector though.
