Great/Interesting Finds

The one I have is in pretty good condition, no shine at all ... so probably seen very little use.
But the switches don't "glide" at all. Even scratchy mx switches will still behave perfectly fine - they are just scratchy.

I tried using the Mini Ergo because I think the layout is epic and really wanted to use it but stopped after like .. 10 minutes. Off-center keypresses are terrible, even lubed sliders only glide well when you hit the keys in the center.

Someone turn this thing into a custom kit ;)

This isn't even about Cherry MX .. I have forced myself to try many different kinds of switches and these were the only ones I couldn't bear ...

Tbh I only try those switches that are either supposed to be good or interesting to me.

I don't know why I hadn't noticed this before, but the wording used in the definition of "Used" on eBay is quite funny:

"Used: An item that has been used previously. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear ...."

The placement of a word in a sentence can alter the meaning substantially!

I had an offer in on this, but I retracted it. I had a unitek with vintage black but I didn't really like it that much.

This one is an NCR, for a pretty reasonable price (I think? I'm not sure what the value of vintage blacks are).

Yeah it's even more extreme in real life than the pictures convey, the original grey of the case turns greenish not yellow just like on the granite SGI's. Mine is from 1985 the MX blacks are smooooth very close to Nixies in feel. Of course it's XT so it needs to be converted, it's almost too nice to slaughter for the MX's.

IBI Systems KT-1000-PS2-3-SP
Steel case / White Alps? / Trackball / Compact Key Layout

Unusual board.

The description says white Alps, but there is an apparent date of 04/2013 (?)

My guess is about $500.

I think your guess is shy of the final price. I'd say $500 if it didn't come with documentation and wrist rests. This one will almost certainly climb above $700.

I've seen three variations of the IBM M15: the Options logo, the blue IBM logo and the Lexmark. Does anyone know which of these three are the rarest?

It's not that rare but it's nice. I'm with XMIT, +/- $500.

I didn't look too closely. This one is in the box and has the wrist rests, but no numpad. So sure, $750 is realistic.

When are we going to get a community built M15 clone with capacitive Model F flippers? :evilgeek:

They're nice linear keyboards. I got a couple of complete Kaypro portable computers for free with the purchase of an IBM 5155 locally last month. The one you bought should have SMK vintage linears, and that color scheme leads me to believe you'll get the thicker double shot spherical caps. Some of the newer Kaypros have thinner caps, still double shot though.

Good buy indeed! I so wish I could easily adapt the caps to one of my keyboards. But at least I have the Kaypro system so that I can use the keyboard for something.
