What a truly dreadful layout!
If upper and lower were swapped it might be marginally better, but why invent this at all?

I mean, at first I thought maybe you could make a decent 60% keyboard out of it, or for super wide fans like me, something like this.
But then the more I look at it... it's just bleh!! A no-punches-pulled turbo shit.

Omnikey is always nice keyboards for alps white but I'm confused about the price, good or should be a little bit lower?

I think the name hints to why. My hypothesis is this would have been meant for use with some sort of (GUI, not text terminal) specialized software for bank tellers. They'd be using the numpad, mouse, nav and functions constantly while typing names and other text input sporadically. Banks (well, being banks) like to cram as many tellers as possible in a given length of counter, so a narrow design is great for that.
Now, imagine going from Kishsaver buckling spring bliss to this. Sad isn't it?

Honestly to me this seems like a fair price for an ANSI 101. If it is in good condition and clean as the description may imply, I would say it is even a good price. Seeing as it was refurbished by Bob Tibbets, it should be quite nice.John Doe wrote: 22 May 2020, 05:39 Omnikey is always nice keyboards for alps white but I'm confused about the price, good or should be a little bit lower?

Right. It could be that they were using the alpha block only to sign in to the computer and that's it. Everything else was ringing things up or related activities. If it was possible to slice up the pcb to rearrange it and then reprogram it, there might be some potential but then why not just start from scratch?Darkshado wrote: 22 May 2020, 06:19I think the name hints to why. Even without being serviced by Northgate Bob this is a good deal.
In my opinion, this is the ideal flavor of Omnikey and I would buy it myself if I didn't already have 3 of them.

It is a scam. They used to be at $2.50 each. It is a generic picture, not taken by the seller.davkol wrote: 23 May 2020, 13:10 left-hand Maltron for $12.5 (either the photo is off, or it's some black version with white keycaps that I haven't seen yet)

I would like one of the montereys, I already have one but with a German layout and would prefer the English one they have. But I don't speak Polish so I can't tell if the seller is willing to splitrymut wrote: 21 May 2020, 08:35 White ALPS in a nice form factor:

Careful! Those are late K104s, and the one switch pictured is a clone, not genuine Alps.NeK wrote: 24 May 2020, 22:16I would like one of the montereys, I already have one but with a German layout and would prefer the English one they have. I have another photo taken by another seller, is it real alps version? Or just late k104? Thanks.Polecat wrote: 24 May 2020, 22:36Careful! That's another late one. Hard to predict switches on the Montereys since they seem to have used multiple types concurrently. The three K104s on my list closest to that serial number have, one each, white clones, white bamboo SKCM, and blue SMK "Monterey" switches.
edit: the attached photo offers a clue that Monterey offered different versions. Not sure which this was, since all of the switches were "clicky" by most definitions.
