Wow i really like the case! If someone gets it for the caps, I would be very interested in the case alone maybe paint over the team name or just the web site :p but other than that it's a very nice color scheme

It was me, and I had even posted not only in one thread, but in two.Jimmy54669 wrote: ↑Some one postet this thing here got it for 1€ looks to me like some kind of Model M

And I would say it is rather daring to expect anything else than what it is described as: a keyboard for children

This is a recurring discussion:Prelim wrote: ↑eish, that sucks :/photekq wrote: ↑RIP my dreams. I guess a few people PMed that guy with the mopar. He upped it from 300 to 500, then from 500 to 1195.
Nice.
I honestly think that sometimes it's better not to share things here, also because those who came here and snipe those items rarely are active forum users
http://deskthority.net/deskthority-f17/ ... ml#p222237
I belong to those who do extensive research, and I must say it really sucks when I do discover something interesting just to see it posted soon for the benefit of all those (including non-DT members) whose research activity restricts to reading this thread.
That's why when I discovered this gem, I PM'd several of the active publishers in this thread to ask them not to post it.
It went good in the end and I even got it for much less that what I had expected, but I think this cannot be a solution.

Why not limit the thread to registered users ? At least then someone from the community will benefit.

I agree with kbdfr. What sense does it make to do extensive searches on all marketplaces if in the end I don't get the reward of ripping off uninformed sellers?

I would also agree with this. Also, I was thinking that users with at least 15 posts on other topics should be able to open/see this topic, after they agree to some rules (but, this may be too drastic)

I'm not sure this is ironyHalvar wrote: ↑I agree with kbdfr. What sense does it make to do extensive searches on all marketplaces if in the end I don't get the reward of ripping off uninformed sellers?
The point is not "ripping off uninformed sellers", the point is "competing with people who do not even search themselves".
I had not expected to be the only one to find this Siemens audiology keyboard, and of course my sniping bid was much higher.
And yet perhaps it wouldn't have been high enough if lots of lurking non-members had been willing to pay even more.

I think putting a number on is not the best idea , Registering is a barrier enough for people when looking for info. I think most of the problems would be solved by a simple. Are you a member, then you can view.derzemel wrote: ↑

I mean if someone wanted to get the topic just to profit or snipe stuff then they would just make 15 random posts that have some vague input and then they are done. You cannot stop people like that if they want to do something they will find a way around it, the registration will be enough to stop the casual browser.

Rather not. According to the member list sorted by post count, andrewjoy wrote: ↑Registering is a barrier enough for people when looking for info. I think most of the problems would be solved by a simple[: a]re you a member, then you can view.
3286 out of the 7880 Deskthority members never posted after registering.
In other words, we have almost 42% read-only members and would simply have even more if there were such a rule.

There are plenty of forums that restrict sections (classifieds, etc) to registered users with 50/more minimum posts. So a higher number than the 15 posts would also be fine.
Furthermore, this kind of implementation will make DT a more active forum and minimize the "read-only" users issue

Do we cull inactive users ?
We could have it so if you are inactive for say 1 year and have made no posts your account gets suspended you are informed by email and then after a few months deleted.

Ungh. But if GH did that I could never receive PMs there with my zero post account! I haven't had any of those in a year or more, to be honest, but it was super useful when Tinnie dumped Kishsavers on me, some for GHers who I'd never met…
Anyway, I just logged out before logging back in to post this. The whole Great Finds thread is perfectly visible to guests as well. A pointless argument.

I agree, but i don't think closing it to unregistered users is unreasonable. We are all adults here and i think if someone said they where going to go for something then i think most would have the decency to stay off it. It just keeps it away from the random googler.

the discussion is: Whom people do you want it to know? Active DT users? Users with minimum contribution to the forum? Registered-only users? All users including guest?dzhoou wrote: ↑Come on. This discussion is way off. Why post here if you don't want people to know?
IMO, I think the best option would be "Users with minimum contribution to the forum", let says 50 posts.
lololol, don't be such a naive!andrewjoy wrote: ↑We are all adults here and i think if someone said they where going to go for something then i think most would have the decency to stay off it.

Yes, it's been suggested many times, but at the same time many argued against it so nothing was changed.sth wrote: ↑maybe this thread could be a perk for dt club membership. better than spam posting to reach a required post count, it actually directly benefits dt

Looks like some people are just sour that things they are going after are made public here.
On the bright side, they also get to see things they're interested in but never found out themselves. So it cancels out in a way.
please.

Right. lets make DT more club-exclusive than it already is.sth wrote: ↑maybe this thread could be a perk for dt club membership. better than spam posting to reach a required post count, it actually directly benefits dt

Is it really so exclusive? I joined the club and really, barely anything changed at all for me.dzhoou wrote: ↑ Right. lets make DT more club-exclusive than it already is.
Are there not enough open platforms (reddit, geekhack) out there? I for one prefer a smaller circle of well-known people, especially in this thread.
