Yes, definately.

Almost all of those editing keyboards with the super colorful keys are Avid keyboards, Macally is the only other brand I can think of that sells the hyper-colorful editing keyboards.

There are companies like Logickeyboard http://www.logickeyboard.com/shop/frontpage.html that make keyboards with program specific keys.

Woah - misread that. It was late, and the pictures are fuzzy and lack contrast. On the pictures, they looked like Dye-subs to me, even though the product code is a dead giveaway!

I know the difference well - I sold most of my doubleshots to get money for dye-subs
Luckily, I use the common (for Cherry) ISO-DE layout.

Is it only me that prefers Doubleshots to dyesubs?
I mean I know the abs texture will eventually get shiny and I hate it but maybe sandblasting will be a solution for the future... dyesubs look to me like a tattooed cap also fonts and size I find usually bad on dyesubs...

You are not the only one, I have heard this before. The main reason I still like doubleshots is their contrast, it is beautiful and the fonts are extremely sharp, compared to the more fuzzy look on dye-subs. Fonts and their size should be the same as Doubleshots but due to the different methods they look different.

But there is another component to why I prefer dye-sub in the end: The inherent superiority of the PBT material.
It is deeper in sound, and I prefer not to use O-rings, the ABS caps always sound "clacky" in comparison, too high pitched.
Obviously it is a lot more durable but it also does not yellow much. So you can have beautiful 25 year old dye-sub keycaps that look like new, pearly white. This is hard to find with doubleshots, and gets worse over time. Lastly the texture. ABS texture is nice in the beginning and terrible by the end (unless you actually like smooth and shiny), whereas the PBT is more silky, what little texture you can feel stays for a long time.

Yeah I agree with shreebles, PBT is the choice for me. The printing is secondary. I own vintage doubleshots that are nicer than most other keycaps. Then again those are an exception I guess.

For someone with a few vintage keyboards, I'm in for glossy doubleshots that look almost enameled like teeth. PBT is the obvious choice for matte key caps. Like Seebart, it's hard to generalize into only one key cap type.

Quality PBT dye-sublimed legends are razor sharp, when done correctly. The IBM Bigfoot caps are testament to this. They are gorgeous.

Yes. Even well worn shiny PBT feels better than lightly polished ABS. I'm definitely a PBT snob.

i have read somewhere that with some filling they might fit mx, i have not tried this with mine tho

Yeah snuci also glossy teeth like Doubleshots really look great to me indeed.. in some dark color even better.. not just black but dark grey dark red or dark blue...but kind of difficult to find....

I have cherry doubleshots sitting in a drawer because I'd rather type on lasered thick pbt. Looks will always take the second place to feel and sound for me.

The caps don't look like Cherry at all, but quite interesting anyway. The LEDs under the key caps are something that I wouldn't expect on a rubberdome board, so I guess this must be mechanical.
