I really like that colorway, problem being color matching. The manufacturer is incredibly bad at that.EnthusiastDude wrote: ↑08 Jul 2020, 16:13Pretty sure there are too many requests like that but I'd love an MT3 set based on the Symbolics 364000.

Interesting, is that always a problem with recreating existing colourways? For me at least it wouldn't have to be an exact match, but I guess the closer the better.matt3o wrote: ↑10 Jul 2020, 20:15I really like that colorway, problem being color matching. I think it is because, if the proposed black / white MT3 ABS keycaps are released, then you can buy the right mods and alphas to get 3278.
If they make those, they should add Honeywell Red / Turf Green / Honey and Co. accents and Dolch Cyan as options.

Wow, Massdrop is really riding the MT3 profile nowadays, can't even count the sets they are releasing in the last weeks.
To bad, their ISO international become ISO Norde >_>
Good news... looks like the /DEV/TTY drop will possibly be shipped by the end of this month (I joined on may 6th!)!

yeah it took forever for no reason... well, expect covid I guess... but everything was ready (colors, legends...). The only thing that needed testing was the side-print. But I haven't got prototypes of that, so who knows how it will go

Hnnnng! Just discovered this thread today. If there were cylindrical caps in these colors, ortholinear but with a 2U left shift, I'd bankrupt myself for it! That goes double if it has the Atari ST's keycap font. The subtle subversion of the muted style with small but brightly-colored lettering is something I love sooooo much! But I guess I should check out what's new first, because there are other schemes I love.
If there are orthographics of this set remaining, I might want them, depending on price. I don't find sphericals comfortable so they wouldn't be on my main keyboard, and so I'd have a lower price ceiling.

I recently saw a lot of people using flipped R4 MT3 on the thumbcluster of Kyrias, Cornes, Lily58 etc. I wonder if it maybe would be a good idea to include some flipped caps (maybe on the Dye-sub sets, than I guess this would be a problem with the molds) or some R4 blanks.
And maybe it's just me, but I haven't seen a lot of Ergodox in the last year. I know the boardwalk uses parts from this set too, but maybe it would be a good idea to rework the Ergo sets

yeah I know but people don't buy ergodox anymore and Drop is not willing to produce a kit that sells just a dozen copies... times have changed since a few years ago

I think part of the problem is that Drop stopped selling Ergodoxes Hopefully they start pushing split ergo again.
The ortho kits with MT3 are up there with KAT in terms of coverage and price, so at least splits with 1u mods are easy to cover!

Correct. Maximum deliverable payload. This is also why we should all quit whining, adopt ANSI US and learn to love the (bomb) Drop.
B…b…but we’re all still into my precious and beloved icon mods, of course.

Unfortunately this makes a lot of sense. I guess people don't buy Ergodox sets, cause most people use other split orthos and don't find some use for most of the keys. Instead they use the ortho and some other sets and hack something weird together.
I completely get that DROP is about revenues, but I thought if they still produce some kind of Ergo set why don't produce one that people will actually buy (at least a few people)
