Today we rest. Tomorrow I will try to do a more specific inventory of the situation and let everyone know their state. I want to get all of this plastic out of my office within a week, so if your order fit its intended box, or you tell me to upsize you, then your order is likely to be on its way next week. Can you guys confirm which boxes for Europe are packed and ready to be sent? Who's boxes are not affected with size issue? Would that be all european orders or just some? Is this gonna cause longer delays or would it be matter of one day to find solution? Just asking cause I understand you guys have jobs and your own lives and you may not spend most of your time on this during a week.
I can tell you that 80% of the US orders went out on Saturday or will go out on Monday, simply because I did not have to generate Customs paperwork. Also, 80% of the non-US orders fit in their assigned boxes, so I am going to try and get at least some of them out the door on Monday as well.
In all cases, you will get an e-mail when I generate the mailing label/paperwork. However, those e-mails will likely go to your PayPal e-mail address, so keep an eye on that.
If by Thursday 17:00 PDT you have not gotten either a notification of a problem OR a shipment notification, please send me a note. But please wait until then so I will have some time to sort things out.
TL;DR: Most US orders out by Monday. All members should get a ship notice or problem notification in their PayPal e-mail by Thursday 17:00 PDT.

Hey guys, great job on this group buy, honestly -- it was organized wonderfully, the ordering was a breeze, and the turnaround was very quick.
I hate to be a Mr. Complainy Complainerson, but somehow I got two '9' keys and no '/' keys (image attached, sorry for the low quality).
Apart from that, the caps look great -- as you can see I wasted no time getting them on my board and I can't wait to program SAS in Emacs with this thing (don't judge).

Darn! You are officially the first one to experiment production errors with DSA Retro. Worry not! We ordered quite a few spares to handle exactly these kind of issues! Fortunately DSA keys are all on the same profile and you can fill that gap with any 1u key while you wait for the replacement.

Any tips for converting the DSA 6.25 spacebar to a universal mount to work with my leopold? I already chopped up two spare caps (not retros ;D) to get the pegs. Would hot glue be a good route for this?
edit: hot glue worked like a champ…we'll see if it can survive an entire day

Done and done! Thanks! If you end up being short a '9' key (or a DCS spacebar for that matter) let me know!matt3o wrote:Darn! I'd go epoxy glue. it's a two components glue, very strong, very durable. Some have very long cure time, others very short. For this application I'd take a 90 seconds cure time.kwago wrote:Any tips for converting the DSA 6.25 spacebar to a universal mount to work with my leopold? So I got mine today - despite university-related shipping mishaps. (I kindof moved out by the time they got here, but they were kind enough to hold it for me.) Unfortunately, I've run into a wee bit of a problem with the stabilisers. They um... they don't fit. The center stem fits over the cherry switch just fine, but the little white stem-to-sideways-slot plastic bit that the stabilisers are supposed to slide into is too small to stay in. I /could/ hotglue/epoxy them on to the keys but something tells me that's not the best option. Does anyone know where you can get these things in the right size?
Edit: Fun fact: I just tried the non-dsa spacebar that came with the order with the stabilisers and /it/ works, so I'm not insane.

that is a common SP problem with stabilizers. Basically the stems are not 100% cherry MX standard. Fortunately there's a very easy fix for that and it's called teflon tape (I think is sometime referenced as plumbers' tape). Put a little quantity around the white stabilizer supports and you are good to go!boondaburrah wrote:So I got mine today - despite university-related shipping mishaps. I'd really like to have DSA white+grey PBT dye sub. we'll see.
Anyway probably we will have a round of SA before that.

samwisekoi is filling customs paperwork like there's no tomorrow. I guess next week you'll start receiving the notifications.
Your order RC-1140 probably doesn't fit the allotted box and samwisekoi is working on the issue.

Can we make the SA one a Lisp keyboard-themed GB?

I'd say newline is the generic term for a new line/line break and line-feed \LF \n (ASCII 10/0x0A) is the ASCII character for a new line.
But no idea what the keys on the keyboard do
