HONEY/TKL is enough.gregounech wrote:Hey, which set would be fully compatible with a Keycool 87 ?
Although Keycool 87 has an unique space bar, you cannot replace your space bar even if you buy a 6.25 units spacebar.

Please update the wiki!raxer23 wrote:Some newer Keycool 87 can use a SP Universal Spacebar.
AFAIK the older Keycool's from like a year ago have stems compatible with FC500R/FC700R, but the recent one's are the same as Filco's but with additional stems.vardhana wrote:Where does it have stabilizer mounts?
No my failure. There is not even a wiki entry for this keyboard!vardhana wrote:http://deskthority.net/wiki/Space_bar#6 ... m_apart.29
says 6.25 units "One center mount and two mounts 2.25 units (~43mm) left and right of the center"
http://deskthority.net/wiki/Space_by_ke ... 5_units.29
says 6.5 units "122mm wide, 3 mounts, 42.5mm? apart "
Wait. Inconsistency between these
I do and I did. The space bar has a standard 6.25 width, but on the older model, the mounts are 42,5 mm from each other.7bit wrote: Maybe, someone who owns such a keyboard should change this.
Honey/TKL is in the proper row as suggested in the graphic (I *hope* I'm right) which is why I said I'm puzzled by the modifiers being all row 3 because if you care about the proper profiles, then why do you need those mod kits?JSchool wrote:Wait, so are the modifiers on HONEY/TKL *not* the proper rows as suggested by that graphic?
Yeah this makes no sense to me. Really need clarification so i know what to order.Belfong wrote:Honey/TKL is in the proper row as suggested in the graphic (I *hope* I'm right) which is why I said I'm puzzled by the modifiers being all row 3 because if you care about the proper profiles, then why do you need those mod kits?JSchool wrote:Wait, so are the modifiers on HONEY/TKL *not* the proper rows as suggested by that graphic?
In theory, yes.osxoep wrote:One last thing before I order, is it possible to get a 1.75x R4 shift key? (Pure shift)
No, this is my own limitation.Muirium wrote:Nope, those mods really are all row 3. (A current limitation in Signature Plastics' molds for SA.) The white alphas are proper profiles, but that kit is mods only.
In Round 4, all blue keys where in row 3 (with a few exceptions, like cursor keys) and there looks nothing wrong!Belfong wrote:The thing I don't understand about mod is that if the profile is not the same as the Alpha, wouldn't the modded keyboard look odd with different profiles in each row? I'm not OCD but even then I find it hard to imagine a keyboard with different profiles, making it like a jagged, uneven piece.
Which is why I like that 7bit created a black/TKL or red/TKL which are all row 3. I can appreciate a flat keyboard. Maybe I'm thinking it wrong but I now see 3 different TKL sets instead of black and red TKL being a mod of the standard honey TKL.
Welcome to DT!Supergeek wrote:Hello! I've got a Truly Ergonomic Keyboard ("TEK" as some refer to it I guess?) and I'm hoping to get in on this group buy, but I'm not sure what the "profile" is on my keys, and if any of the modifiers might be compatible.
I know I'm definitely out of luck with regards to the center keys (Delete, Tab, BS, and Enter) because they are unique to the TEK, but I'm curious if any of these keys would fit the TEK's space bars, cursors, modifiers, Escape, and so on.
My Shift, Control, and Alt keys are exactly two regular keys wide. The space bars are about the same, but they come out at a weird angle.
Any other TEK owners in here? Can anyone help me out with some advice? Thanks!
The post about the spherical group buy on GeekHack brought me here. This is my first post here. I've been wanting spherical keys for a while now. I will definitely be getting HONEY/ALPHA at the least, and maybe more if the profile and sizes are right.
The only keys whoch are 'wrong' are those in the 2 bottom rows.Belfong wrote:Honey/TKL is in the proper row as suggested in the graphic (I *hope* I'm right) which is why I said I'm puzzled by the modifiers being all row 3 because if you care about the proper profiles, then why do you need those mod kits?JSchool wrote:Wait, so are the modifiers on HONEY/TKL *not* the proper rows as suggested by that graphic?
Thanks for putting this in FAQ. This graphic creates a huge clarity for me. I suppose the TKL white/grey is the same as above except that I should ignore the Numpad columns, right?7bit wrote:
To me, it does not look odd to have row 3 modifiers in the 2 bottom rows, your kilometrage may vary.
FUNCTION was already in the HONEY/MODEXTRA175 kit. Added the stepped version.Muirium wrote:...
Note the ghostly left SHIFT: that's one of the missing sizes 7bit's talking about. 2.25u is only available in row 3. The red labelled keys are ones I'm still hunting for. A FUNCTION or LAYER labelled CAPS LOCK, a 1.25u ENTER or COMPOSE and a row 4 single unit FUN key.
How would I know if I have it tho :[ ?raxer23 wrote:Some newer Keycool 87 can use a SP Universal Spacebar.
