Almost.
We have 180 orders, if everybody pays $30 extra, or orders more kits, like langauge, extra modifiers, function and numeric keys, there will be no loss for me.
Otherwise, we are off by ~$5500.

That's a worryingly large amount. What's causing the expense? I'm new(ish) to the workings of group buys.7bit wrote:Almost.

Well, the problem is caused by kits I sell as if there where around 20-25 kits ordered.matt3o wrote:...

Ideally you would order 2x FR kit (insatead of one) or 2x MODEXTRA150 etc.Yslen wrote:Wait, so the choice is;
a) pay an extra $30
b) order an extra $30 worth of keycaps
What am I missing here?

I can see how it's a delicate situation; raising everyone's prices to pay for kits only a few want seems unfair, but raising the prices on those kits to reflect their actual cost risks people dropping out :/7bit wrote:Yslen wrote:...

I'm all willing to help for other people to get the stuff they want as they also pay for mine, but this GB has grown to be excessive in this respect IMO.

Who is 周 宇 ?
周 宇 paid some money to megnin without adding any text to identify the payment.
If the amount does not belong to anybody else, it must belong to me.

but what if someone ordered say $30 of caps then have to pay another $30 to make up for the more unpopular sets costing 7bit....it's effectively doubling their order cost. If it's a straight up addition of $30 to everyone then some will get less value than others...don't that'd work :/

There's problems with jacking up the prices, or putting a surcharge on everyone's order. Better to look into these unpopular kits and see what really deserves to be kept. I'm sure there'll be a few I've ordered too, but we should debate them and make the cut.

These $30 are not a big issue, but I will have to raise some prices. I already finished a tool that shows me how expensive each kit really is.fart_toast wrote:but what if someone ordered say $30 of caps then have to pay another $30 to make up for the more unpopular sets costing 7bit....it's effectively doubling their order cost. Are there any kits that are close to 25? I'll pick them up just to resell if I think they have potential for that. Or hell I'll pick up a few more standard kits just to resell if it doesn't matter which ones.
Just take my money!

Are you off by that much due to non-payments, in part? Also is it mostly for newer kits you have just recently listed? Because some things have gotten added just this past week even, so there hasn't been enough time for them to gather as much interest. Just trying to understand what contributed to that difference in expected values.
(Also, does the ordering go by cap? So you really order n caps of each kind and form them into sets, right? That's how you can calculate all the individual set combination prices. Like 100 Gray 2.25x Enter caps distributed among 12 sets, 125 "A" 1x caps distributed among 17 sets, etc.--I'm just making it up. Is that right? Curiousity.)

No, it has got nothing to do with people who paid or did not pay. It just does not work out to sell a few kits when prices are for a minimum of 25 keys each.
