You got it. It's Jdcarpe's design, in honour of SmallFry:

I disagree with the huge space bar, but otherwise it's a fine design and I'm trying to maintain compatibility with it in my sets.
Including that 1.25u Tab. Am I right in thinking it's the same one as in this set?
Because there's some funny business going on in the FORTY kit's row profiles…

Exactly! Little magic plastic bits, that transform keyboards. And might even hold good resale value. But don't count too hard on it, these are too practical to be skulls…
I'm in this one pretty deep. Should keep me off DCS GBs for a good while to come, I'm thinking. Oh and I have the original keyboard, so I already have a sense of what these will look like: awesomesauce.

deadline to the next deadline of course!
it's like this: one day 7bit will send the order to SP and that will be the deadline.

Tomorrow I will ask when production can start. Should she say that it can start next week when I submit the order today, tomorrow will be the final deadline to get on the train with all your luggage.* After that, you might still be able to get on the train, but some luggage might be missing.

Muirium, thank you for the encouraging words. You're my inspiration for being in so deep to this GB, though I have to wonder who is #1 on 7bit's list. Nice find with the Honeywell keyboard and thanks for putting the effort into picking the best colors to match it.
Here's a "meetoo" post with the color combos I am planning, thanks to the awesome Keyboard Layout Editor:
First, the Honewell-inspired: Second, the IBM-inspired: By the way, is yellowing a concern for the white HONEY key caps? How long would it take for the effect to set in, and is there anything we can do to prevent it?

Yes, it all comes down to ultraviolet light. Keep them out of the strong stuff and they should be fine. The original 1983 Honeywell is white ABS too, and still in good shape. Although plenty of younger keyboards aren't.mtl wrote:By the way, is yellowing a concern for the white HONEY key caps? I need to find these row 4 function keys now! Got a definitive text dump?
I think both shifts and the Fn key should be in Row 3 profile, for symmetry.

They indeed come with 2 key caps.sean4star wrote:Quick question on the space100 kits. Does it come with two keycaps? A blank and one with the word space on it? That's what it looks like in the graphic. And what is the profile? Is it rounded like a space bar or is it a regular row 3 key?
Keys until 3.99 units are concave and from 4 units on, they are convex.

People are strange,
When you're a stranger,
Streets are lonely,
When you're alone.
Ahem, ah yes, key caps!
Re: concave vs. convex. Hmm. The 3 unit space bar would be awesome if it was shaped like its bigger brothers.

This possibility hadn't ocurred to me. I'm thinking you could make one hell of a magic circle out of several thousand caps. Oh no, what have we done!
