I think HONEY/F1TOF12/R3 is absolutely fine.7bit wrote: I did only half-ways follow this, but the HONEY/F1TOF12/H7 kit is for the Hyper7 keyboard.
For Model-F-style layout:
F1, F2 exist in row 1 already.
F3, F4 do not yet exist in row 2.
F5, F6 do exist.
F7, F8 do not yet exist in row 4.
F9, F10 don't know if they should be row 3 (like bottom row) or row 4 again.
One option would be to add F3, F4 in row 2 and take the keys below F5,F6 from row 3.

Another option:
- This should be attachable by a wire (like the ergodox, and it can be put at the right or left or removed)
- Same Teensy, if possible
- ISO is OK would be great, an extra key!
- The plate should be aluminium (with colors)

Get in the Teensy group buy. They're not that expensive! I'm leaning more towards putting a hub and straightforward USB interconnect system in my next build than ever.

How about a HHKB-Pro layout option?
It's imho a great layout, perhaps with the exception of the Fn key placement...
Think i have caps covered from round 5 now, looking forward to see where this goes

I kind of regret that we choose R1 (i voted for this...) for the function row in R5, now i think that it would be better in R3. It's gonna be weird to have the last two rows in R1...
I am gonna add the function R3, just in case.

Yes it was the introduction of the ALPHA/RED and 7bit told he can't afford both standard profile and row7 sets and the majority choose the standard. Now it's too late to complain since the deadline is too close to add another set but when i see the white mods I think it should be possibleBimboBB wrote:I think thats what most people preferred....different rows.Vierax wrote:It is to me too but 7bit doesn't like full row3 keys We didn't have the HONEY/ALPHA/R3 at allBimboBB wrote: I think HONEY/F1TOF12/R3 is absolutely fine.

This is what I'm planning on doing with my Apple M0110. I plan on getting an M0120 (the matching tenkey) but having them both on their own independent Teensy. The tenkey USB could either use an extension and plug into the computer directly or plug into a USB hub built into the M0110 keyboard. If only I had more time to tinker!

we settled for a 0.25 gap on the arrow cluster. The brownfox (my previous custom) has the arrows with no gap and I wish I put it.
Also, DSA PBT set won't have the 7u spacebar unfortunately, so I'd try to avoid that unless really necessary.

What do you mean? If we consider current layout as set, at least for the left handed f-row maybe its possible to get HONEY/F1TOF10/ROW. What would be the MOQ for it?

Ah, I read through the whole thread but for some reason decided to skip page 9 and make a mock up. I would definitely be interested in your more sensible proposed layout.matt3o wrote:we settled for a 0.25 gap on the arrow cluster. since we will never find a consensus let's just say the we will have 3 main cases.
1) 65%, arrow cluster no function keys
2) Left function cluster
3) Top function row
You'll then be free to place the bottom mods in any way you want (ISO and ANSI). I don't know if I will be able to design the PCB to support all layouts, though.
An additional case design might be the numpad
Ideas?

Someday someone should make a lego-style keyboard, where everyone can make his dream layout by moving and relocking different pcb-plate-keys parts at different positions relative to one another.

Not quite the same, but if you're aiming for some semi-automatic cut-out plate creation, I found OpenSCAD incredibly useful: Once the initial framework is in place, custom plates can be popped out arbitrarily by just changing a few parameters. And even switching to a completely different geometry of the cutouts (to still be able to open the switches) is just a few lines of code.Laser wrote:Someday someone should make a lego-style keyboard, where everyone can make his dream layout by moving and relocking different pcb-plate-keys parts at different positions relative to one another.
Maybe there are better tools for the job, and many more professional solutions for parametric modelling exist - but to quickly and painfully code a few plates, its marvellous!

I would just like to show you guys what I´m working on here in Sweden. It´s a highly personal layout for my needs when working with CAD. I´m also aiming to get it compact taking up less space on the desk without taking away too much of the comfort from a TK board.

I'm surprised to say that I quite like your micro-TKL, Muirium! Maybe with extra buttons to either side of the up arrows to keep that wall-of-keys feel. Then you could turn it into a numpad with your function lock key.
Hey, wait! Isn't it missing a function key so that you can use F1-F12?
