A good wiki page makes our future trades much easier to illustrate. Which in turn increases the new caps value. A good reason to keep it complete and authoritative.

Yes, but there are 2 of them:
http://deskthority.net/wiki/Round_5
and
http://deskthority.net/wiki/R5_leftovers
The leftovers page will be removed once everything has been sold.

If you already tested a fully plate profile keycaps and liked it then try dsa.drrtyrokka wrote:Can't decide, if i should get matt3o's pbt caps for my tkl board or another round5 set. (Because I haven't tried neither SA Profile nor DSA Profile before)
Of course this question is only valid, if it is still possible to order from the leftovers after a few months... because my tkl board didn't arrive yet
If you like low profile keys like Cherry/GMK or DCS then try dsa.
If you like spherical or dislike cylindrical then try dsa.
If you don't think that dust bothers you or if you're afraid of UV-yelowing then try pbt.

I just tested the standard filco keycaps so far, and I like them. But I think I will also like the SA profile because they are high profile too. Lets wait till the caps arrive... I think we will see then..+
Thanks though for your advices

- Low profile causes RSI!!!
- DSA is hated by 98% of all people who like sphericals and have a Tipro keyboard at home.
- DSA gets dirty, because the material is not self-cleaning, unlike SA-family key caps that are made of ABS!!!
- UV is bad for your skin too, so you should avoid it anyway!

SA's row profiles are its best and worst feature. They make a sweet looking board, and feel excellent to type on. But the ability to mix and match without considering rows is one of DSA's best tricks.
But seriously: c'mon, Round 5 ftw!

I ordered the Ducky with Black engraved PBT keycaps. I think when it arrives (probably tomorrow) I will know the difference in feel between ABS and PBT.7bit wrote: - Low profile causes RSI!!!

I think these caps have the advantage, that they never will fade and are quite indestructable.
ABS will begin to shine and this will be the board I am typing 8 hours a day on, so probably this will happen quite soon.
But just keeping the 'standard' black keycaps is a no go. Everything has to be customized!! It has to!
Seriously I liked the most laptop keyboards (as low profile as possible) when I wasn't into mechanicals yet. But know I can't type on them anymore, they just don't feel right to me anymore.
Let's see how i feel tomorrow.

Shiny ABS is nothing horrible. My Round 4 SPH set is quite shiny after hundreds upon hundreds of hours use. But feels and looks quite fantastic. Yellowing is more of a pain, but keep your keyboard out of direct sunlight and it shouldn't be a problem.

Sorry 7bit, being rude wasn't my intention. I just want to objectively point out differences and I agree with you about advantages of SA but it's nice to be curious and try different keyboard, switches, keycaps to know what fit the best for our personal sensation of typing.
IMHO the sunlight isn't a real problem if you are a night person, if you have a blond or redhead skin and avoid the sunlight, if you live in a cloudy area as northern Europa or USA, Canada, if your window is North oriented (I wonder if it's the opposite in the South hemisphere…) Moreover the only problem is with lightcoloured keycaps (exception of the warm colours which yellowing isn't really visible) and there is product as Retr0bright too.

OK, prices raised, kind of.
New deadline is end of April.
With a higher volume of ley caps this should work out.
You can order now whatever you like, but jumping off will not work out anymore.
Sorry.

I'm waiting for a new price quote for a higher volume. Hope this works out. But it still requires people who actually buy these more keys.
I'd really like to know from the beginning that they changed their rules. I think this is the last group buy with SP, I ever run!
ps: 30 April is maybe a bit of an overreaction, I think I will close when prices cover all costs again, so don't expect prices to get down in any way.

Does that mean we should expect shipping two months from the end of April?

Wait, did SP just raise the price from their quote and thus you need more orders to compensate the price change with economies of scale?!7bit wrote:I'm waiting for a new price quote for a higher volume. Hope this works out. But it still requires people who actually buy these more keys.
