I'm thinking just regular post, shouldn't be too bad. There's no weight in just a couple of switches.
I'll see what I can work out for you all, the cheapest possible ofc, any additional ideas would be great.
Sample pack (10PCS):
3 - Me - Destroying!
2 - Murium
1 - BlueBär
2 - scottc
2 - up for grabs
3 Switches are dedicated to being destroyed as of right now! =)

I they want to sell to us, they should give them for free!noesc wrote:I have also been promised 10pcs for 40USD including shipping to me. Very expensive per switch, but worth for checking them out and destroying a couple. I am very willing to split this with anyone who's interested in trying these things out, and I would love for anyone else to verify what ever quality they turn out to be.
Sample Pack:
3 - Me, for destroying.
7 - up for grabs
Back when I had more in stock than I ever imagined to sell, I gave 100s of them away!

The switches are actually for free, but I have to pay the shipping + Paypal fee, totalling to ~$40 :/
I intend to get as much stock as possible. I got the space for it and I want to give people the possibility to get switches within the same month from when they order them.
Murium:
That would be fantastic! Since I don't have any originals I would highly appreciate a indepth review / comparison.
I did a quick check online at our Postalservice:
Send to: All
Receiving point: Letterbox
Shipping time: 2-8 days depending on country. EU normally 2-3 days.
Max weight: 2kg
Tracking: No
Minimum size: 14x9cm
Maximum size: 60cm any one way and total of 90cm (W+L+H)
Estimated price: $2,5-3USD
So, for 1pcs that would mean ~$6-7USD if we all split even. Less if you get more ofc since postage won't increase.

My friend "Blackbox" on GH contacted Cherry and they told him the MOQ was 1000pcs. Here is the post on GH: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=562 ... msg1269078
I'm also interested in about 25pcs

Oooh, sounds interesting. I would ofc prefer to get hold of original switches. I'll see what I can do about that!
Sayso:
The switches I quoted above are for copies of Cherry MX Lock sadly. But those we at least know that we can get a hold of without a MOQ of thousands.

Just phoned Cherry: 4000 is the minimum, even though the smallest package is 800pcs.
They pack 5 boxes into one and then sell these large 4000x packages to distributors.
The only way to order a smaller amount is to order from an end-user distributor, like Mouser etc.

I don't even know if they have some.
I suggest to buy from any source you can get them from.
BTW, I've got a few I kept for myself.
Please make me offers.

Mouser's catalogue. Maybe they're in here somewhere:
http://uk.mouser.com/Electromechanical/ ... ry&FS=True
When ray4jc found a few in the US, he called them MX1A31NN. Is that the official part number, 7bit? If so, Mouser has nothing.

I'd give Cherry the middle finger. If they won't sell you a box of 800, they have no clue what keyboards forums have done to their switch business. Fuck 'em.

I'd say enthusiasts have done little compared to the industrial applications to the Cherry switches, to be honest. There is a reason ZF bought Cherry, and I don't think it is because of the flourishing of the mechanical keyboard marketwebwit wrote:I'd give Cherry the middle finger. To save shipping costs, please send it directly to Cherry, with the warning:webwit wrote:I'd give Cherry the middle finger. If they won't sell you a box of 800, they have no clue what keyboards forums have done to their switch business. Fuck 'em.
Yours will be next, if you don't sell 800x MXLOCKs to 7bit!

I just saw your update, that's awesome 7bit!
Since these copy-cat sample version are very expensive, unkown quality and actually unkown manufacturer (I've got a confirmation that it is NOT kailh), I'm not sure if there's any reason to order even the samples. It's not like 7bit's going to run out soon :p
