Same price is no good either. IMO you shouldn't be taking the hit for their pricing mistake anyhow. You are the volunteer group buyer, they should fix it, or not, and I can choose not to buy. I don't think this is like Cherry keycaps, where there is a production line and the keycaps are printed as part of the process, and it would take adjusting the production line and running it again to get blank keycap sets, which is all very expensive. Vortex caps are different, since they are separate sets. I think the producer has a base material, blank caps, and then they either engrave or laser them in a step 2. Like IBM caps, where the blank ones are considerably less expensive. What remains would be a claim that handling an extra type of lesser quantity would increase the cost. But they don't have shelf space. It's all the same boxes. And they use group buyers. So I think they are just trying, and insulting my intelligence. The Filco blank sets were 15 EUR before VAT btw.sixty wrote:I think I can adjust the price and skip the Euro if it makes most people happy. In the end it all comes out almost the same after importing + taxes.

The pricing is more or less up to me to a certain margin. I have a suggested retail value and the average prices on TaoBao to go by as a guideline. I calculated the Euro prices based on those values and the VAT and import fees that I end up paying for the group. I think the price is fair, considering Filco sets go for 28 without shipping over at Bruce and are inferior material. At least they don't have rests of glue underneath I guess...

I suspect that the legend will not be level with the surface?
Whiter than Michael Jackson's final days (see the White Ninja in the Pics subforum). Should be perfectly level, more level than that Strauss-Kahn guy.

It's not the price. It's that the price of a blank set which costs less to produce is the same as the price of a labelled set which costs more to produce. Pah, I pity people who glamor over their silly printed sets, like I'd pity musicians who'd glamor over the printed set of their toy pianos. All this overhead for amateurs... but I have to pay the same overhead costs while they aren't there? So I can't buy any of them out of principle, you see.sixty wrote:The pricing is more or less up to me to a certain margin. It seems the end goal of Chinese key cap makers is the acquire the skills to make real silly Constellation key caps (I think you need to be logged in to see the pictures, not sure). For me, if a person starts yapping about constellation it is like she failed some kind of basic intelligence test. However, I wouldn't mind some RGB deskthority keycaps in this style. Big D and deskthority underneath.

I don't see the point either when they could have spend their time on making keycaps with various duck silhouettes instead.
