I liked that one a lot. I found it's a lot of stuff, mostly gipsy, but not surf Very groovy. I'll be cruising and hiking on my vacation in two weeks, and looking for some new tunes instead of the same old songs, and might use this.

He is known as the godfather of the fast hand style and draws upon shamisen techniques. But you are very right, there is a lot of gypsy in there. I think the surf component is mostly due to the similar sound palate /timbre and extensive use of echo, vibrato and tremolo. Glad you liked it.

Two intros basically the same, a half step apart? Needs a mash-up. ::off to search the interwebs::JBert wrote: ↑This one had me tearing my hair out wondering which song it was after hearing that mellow Pianet [sic] sound in an advertising clip:

Today is the "going back to the ancestral roots" day and I have been listening to romanian traditional music all day long
Gheorghe Zamfir is also the composer of the the song The Lonely Shepherd from the Kill Bill soundtrack. The instrument he is playing is called Nai (Romanian Pan flute) George Enescu - Ciocârlia (the lark) - turn your speakers down as it starts in force. This was originally a traditional Romanian song that was made popular by the the composer George Enescu and by the violinist Grigoras Dinicu at the beginning of the 20'th century Shepherd's pipe flute and Old People Circle Dance - I know, the name sounds very awkward in English. The main instrument is called Caval (shepper's long pipe flute). These are actually 2 songs and the second one starts at the 1.10 mark

I am such a fool.
30 years I've wasted and only now I'm starting to listen to full albums by Led Zeppelin and Stevie Wonder. Either my ears are becoming more attuned to finer music, or I'm just becoming and old fart and can't stand today's music.
