I've got one of these, it's from a 3101. There's DIP switches under the lid. My guess is that the keyboard will restore nicely. The main parts you wouldn't want to damage shouldn't be rusted. The aluminum stems on the switches can corrode a bit, but those can be wire brushed clean. The switch plate can be redone just like a model F, so doesn't really matter if that has some rust. Good find indeed!Halvar wrote: ↑Great catch, looking forward to your photos!
I want to know what's under that secret lid!

Northgates don't, so I'd be surprised if Avant ones did. As I recall the Avant ones had to resort to simplified Alps and clones though.orihalcon wrote: ↑...and the keycaps are yellowed? I thought that Avant Stellar boards (which are just a rebranded Northgate Omnikey) all had PBT Caps?

Hmm, I guess I just assumed that since I never saw yellowed caps that's what they were. I guess I have seen some shiny ones though. That should have been more of a clue that they weren't PBT... The more you know.Chyros wrote: ↑Northgates don't, so I'd be surprised if Avant ones did. Blue Alps were selling around that price, but now that more and more people are getting into boards, those with deep pockets are driving up the price.

Right and a giveaway is always those neat shots with a keycap pulled, that's when the seller knows it can potentially make $$$.Blaise170 wrote: ↑Blue Alps were selling around that price, but now that more and more people are getting into boards, those with deep pockets are driving up the price.

The seller originally had one up for a $175 buy it now, which probably sold immediately:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/311514486361
....Then he put one up for auction and got about $250:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/311507341321
...Now he's doing the $300 buy it now. Probably will get it eventually I'd imagine. Probably also has more.

He seems to have listed it twice.
He has two for sale.

BTW, someone from GH got one and mentioned that while it's in good condition it's definitely NOT brand-new, so be warned.orihalcon wrote: ↑The seller originally had one up for a $175 buy it now, which probably sold immediately:

What's even the point of having a best offer if you auto decline everything?
Anyways, here's some... "interesting" stuff.
This seller from a long time ago is still trying to sell these CCTV Apple Standard boards at an outrageous price... Apparently no one is willing to pay.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321663877076
Too expensive, but an interesting white Alps board.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181844477210
The item that I was offering on, an Alps numpad/trackpad.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252237103343
This is pricey, but they have Alps-compatible keys, like most of Macaly's boards.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/331734784264
I'm 90% this has Alps-compatible keys as well (I've bought a Macally iMediakey before and have an Alps set from it).
