That looks Cherry to me. I'm not super great at keyboard id'ing though to be fair...

Something like an early G80-0*** I'm thinking. I know I've seen a plate like that on one, I just can't find the product number right now...

If the seller is bulgarian, it *may* be a Pravetz/Phillips rubberdome. I saw a backplate like this on one. OTOH, it can be totally something else.

That one gets posted every month, including once by me . The general consensus is it's rubber dome.

What seems odd to me is the spacing between keys -- also the spacing between keys and the edge of the case. The tolerances look very tight.

The keys to the left and right of the space bar almost look like Space Invader caps in terms of profile... But the rest look like Cherry caps. Space Invaders also tend to have PBT caps -- the random cap yellowing would be unusual.

>.< Just buy it and spare us all the pain of curiosity. I'm guessing Space Invaders just to mix things up a bit.

There have been Cherry keyboards with those stepped caps (and that bigass Enter):

Definitely looks like a Cherry. The only thing that's a little bit suspect to me is the LED sticker.

gogusrl's keyboard not NMB Hi-tek switch with metal plate back case. Kroy 190 keyboard has the aluminum back case only.
The keyboard should be the ALPS clone switch, Omron B3G-S or SMK vintage linear clones switch.

If it's from an ebay seller, it help seeing how his other keyboards are advertised: if some of them have "mechanical" in title, and some not, it means the seller knows when to use the word and when not

Edit: Just received photos from the seller even though the auction ended. It's a rubber dome... With doubleshots.

The "strange looking rubberdome" looks like Mitsumi Hybrid and the Russian boards from that time period almost always have reed switches. Most were made by Pravetz.

Mitsumi hybrid has discrete, conductive sliders though. It looks more like a standard membrane switch with buckling rubber sleeve.

Also, something I found today; anyone know what this switch is? I feel sure I've see it recently. It's some kind of dome and foil switch with an external return spring.

I bought this Compaq RT102 keyboard today. It's not the same RT102 as we know and which is described in the Wiki, but some earlier pre-DEC era keyboard (old Compaq logo etc). I should get the keyboard later this week and I will then know more, but does anybody know into which model this keyboard is based on or does it have any siblings that could give me a hint what to expect?

From the pictures it's a bit hard to see the switch in detail, kinda looks like Alps but seller wasn't sure is it mechanical or not, so most probably it's going to be rubber dome. It even includes a black protective cover.

NMB dome with slider, common as they come. Not bad for a rubber dome, and that compaq model is pretty well-built. Nothing extraordinary however.

Yes, Alps SKCC with Cherry adapters. Because the original switch wasn't tall enough xD . Nice find though!
