Hi! I recently obtained an IBM Model M 1392366 keyboard, and I have no idea how much it costs nowadays. It is in relatively good condition. All keys are in place, no dirt of any kind under the keys (TBH, it looks like it was taken out of the box less than 10 times and they put it back into the box) and there is a small engraving/carving on the back of the keyboard of the place it originated from. Since I read on Wikipedia that this keyboard is phased out right before the rubber domes, this keyboard is very rare. How much would this thing worth?

Thank you.

Do you happen to have the IBM RT computer this goes with as well? If so, I may be interested.

We have a thread for price checks, use that one instead.

As for the keyboard, square label Ms are more sought after than their pill-shaped label counterparts and therefore more valuable. Price? I found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Vintag ... rmvSB=true

Should give you a rough estimate of what you'd get on ebay as it's a recent auction.

Unfortunately, the IBM RT was ultimately scrapped. I was not able to retrieve it. All I was able to salvage was this keyboard.

Other than the part number and different connector, what makes the RT board more valuable? I assume most buyers aren't getting them to use with an RT system?

It's one of the few instances where the cost increase may simply be related to rarity.

That is unfortunate that the RT is gone. The computers are quite rare. In my view, the keyboard, in this case, would be more desirable by vintage computer collectors than keyboard enthusiasts.

I was looking for over two years and have only seen two auctions on ebay for an IBM 1392366 keyboard. One in Germany and one in the US. Both happened within a week and I won both: If I remember correctly I paid $160 in the US and € 80 in Germany. Given the rarity of these you could almost call them unobtanium.
