I paid today via bank transfer, payment will be processed tomorrow.
BTW, I know this might sound like a stupid question but can a standard Cherry G80-3000 keycap set be used on the Phantom? I don't have time to read the whole thread again
Cheers

If you order the PHANSI plate you can use ANSI layout key caps of a windows keys less G80-1000/3000.Half-Saint wrote:I paid today via bank transfer, payment will be processed tomorrow.

If you order PHISO, you can use G80-1000/3000 ISO and G80-2550/2551 key caps.
The WIN version (PHANSIWIN and PHISOWIN) are good for keycaps from those kbds with win keys.
PH7BIT: That one is special. I think a G80-2551 would be nice to have, so you have got enough keys to cover all switches. Some might have a smaller size than possible, but that should not be a problem.
^^Troublesome might be the space bar and some other 1.5 units keys. You only get 4 1.5 units keys with the G80-2551.
On the other hand, a blank 1 units key might make up a good space bar too!
Then, there is Round 4!

So, Now I am almost done with my case for the Phantom. However I am getting some wierd mesurements when lining up the mountingplate for the keycapholes.
The first F1-F4 row is uneven in the assembly, but not any other F row is uneven. ESC is offcenter in its hole as well.
Have checked the assembly for the mountingplate sitting in an angle, but it is not. And the mountingplate is straight when checked. Used PrinsValiums drawings and got them into Solidworks, where I model everything.
I might have the wrong mesurements for the top part of the case, so showing the measurements I have.

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to say (uneven?) But measurements in mm's is a bad start. The Phantom is designed in inches, try to keep it to that as far as possible. There are CAD files for the mounting plates. They are generated from the same KiCAD files as the Gerber PCB files. So they should line up perfectly =)
All 1X switches are mounted 0.75" apart, as the standard says. C-C measurements between switches are a lot more interesting than the outer edges of your case. The C-C distance between the function row and number row is 1.10" and between F12 and PrintScreen 0.95".

Ughhh... I hate Inch
But I got the measurements for the topcover in mm, and I have no case where I can get my own measurements...
What I mean by "uneven" is that the top of F1 is 2.7mm from the edge and F4 is 2.75mm. F5 to F12 is 2.8mm from the top.
http://i.imgur.com/0PLX4.png
ESC is 2.7 from the top edge, and 3.33 from the bottom. And right and left is not centered either.
But the C-C Distance is correct..
1x is 0.75
Function to numrow is 1.10, and checked every function. Must mean My topcover is wrong.
F12 PrintScreen is 0.95
Should I change everything to inch to make this work properly?
Edit: changing from mm to inch would not do anything, unless I get new measurments from a case :S

Well, since you know the distance between every pair of individual switches. All you need to do is to draw them out and add a mm or so along the edge. Doesn't matter what the Filco case measures out to. The phantom PCB and plate is designed after the measurements you've got, they are "better" than what the Filco engineers came up with in this case. You also know the dimensions of the Phantom plate since they are in the CAD files. You've really got all the information you could possibly ask for... =D

Yeah, I know I have all the info I need (and that yours are correct), that's why I am so perplexed about the assembly beeing wrong
Think I need to start over, covering all bases this time. And hopefully not making a complete ripoff from the 356, as it is now
But maybe I just need to adjust ESC(on my model), as it is now it's off center and the mountingplate is dead center
Edit: Going to make it from the Mountingplate this time.
Btw, does anyone have a tip on how to secure the Plate later when mounted? Right now I am planning on pressing it down via the topcover into the bottom, where I have some sort of foam.
This will only cause unnessesarily tight tolerances, and put stress on the PCB

I already talked with 7bit about a week ago. Some components of my PC died so I've had to replace them and I don't have the money for the Phantom right now. I told him to cancel it but he said he was ordering it anyway

You can cancel it by sending CLEARALL to Phantom.Vast wrote:I already talked with 7bit about a week ago. Some components of my PC died so I've had to replace them and I don't have the money for the Phantom right now. I told him to cancel it but he said he was ordering it anyway
But I will also reserve you the parts for your order, to give you time to decide whether you want it or not.

That would be a bit of a disaster, killing your board and there are no extrasdirge wrote:Good that your ordering a few extra bits, I'm worried that I may end up killing things and needing replacements

Where are the mounting plates made? The price seems quite nice for those. I do want a plate with 2 more function keys as long as it's reasonably priced.
The mounting plate is supposed to be held in place by pressure and with the three holes to make it unable to slide right?
I was kinda hoping to make a case out of wood or something without having to clutter up the top with screws. Have anyone come up with such a design?

Ragnorock on Geekhack is organizing a group buy of a set of red on black 87-key set with an add-on kit for Phantom (1.5x modifiers and 1x diamond keys). Also available is a 104 add-on set. There is also an ISO add-on kit if it reaches 15 orders.

I also threw in for 2 sets of the doubleshot RGBs you linked to, can't wait for those, hopefully we can hit the 75 piece order on them.
