HP 46021A?

Evening! Me again.

Two concise questions on these old HP 46021A terminal keyboards.



Does anyone who's used one of these boards know:

• What sort of switch do these use? I've heard both linear and slider over dome, but can't confirm either.
• Are the keycaps double-shot, dye-subbed, or pad printed? I can't find photographic evidence of wear on any of the ones I've seen online but I can't bring myself to believe these are double-shot.

I suspect that there were two variants. One that had third-gen Fujitsu Leaf Spring with linear feel and one that had rubber domes.

I had one at a time with horrible rubber domes, and I think I got it because I was after the leaf spring version. I don't think they had double-shot keycaps.

Yeah I have this one NIB that is a rubber dome. These keyboards use a proprietory HP protocol, not usable on any PC or MAC and the keycaps don't fit anything else...

I hope someone figures out the HIL protocol eventually (didnt Hasu acquire something with it recently? Hmm..!), these boards are really rad and I'd have even one of the domed variants around if I could use it on something.

HP actually has their own adapters but those are rare and usually expensive:

Yeah I wouldn't mind trying that one actually, of course the HP protocol...
