Convert Model M to QMK?

What alternatives are there to convert Model M to QMK?
Is there any custom pcbs or is my only option to wire it up myself?

Because of the membrane they use it's not receptive to mods so a plug in external adapter is generally used.

Google around or search deskthority.net for "phosphorglow colossus". It was running TMK. Even if you can't get NKRO because of the membranes you can still get reduced power consumption and macros. Good luck.
