Every time I try and use Taobao I feel like I am just doing it wrong because I can never find interesting stuff like IBM SSK's.
Any suggestions for non-Chinese readers/buyers for finding this loot you speak of?

I got sent this by a member when I was ordering mine (that I ended up getting scammed on by taobaobee).just be careful with the Chines guys, a few months ago one of my friends bought an ibm ssk and surprise surprise the inside part # did not match the shell part #. The Chines rebuild these boards. So before selling these boards as unmodified boards, make sure to verify this.

Secondly, im just a keyboard enthusiast, i wont scam or selling fakes to all of the people.......fossala wrote:I got sent this by a member when I was ordering mine (that I ended up getting scammed on by taobaobee).just be careful with the Chines guys, a few months ago one of my friends bought an ibm ssk and surprise surprise the inside part # did not match the shell part #. i can find two japanese model m but not ssk (and in yahoo auction jp, not taobao), one of it, is nib and other one is used, but the price of nib one is incredibly high, 100,000 yen, and i think this is overpriced, for the other one, is selling 15,000 yenIcarium wrote:Are there any BS boards with extra keys like the japanese seem to have? Tell you a skill to make it easier to find goods, make the keywords short like you want to search model m ssk than just type model m , because all of the seller don't know much english, so they will say ssk is The short version of model m......lol002 wrote:Every time I try and use Taobao I feel like I am just doing it wrong because I can never find interesting stuff like IBM SSK's.

I'm not very familiar with taobao. Are the items on there always new or are there also some listed as used?

Just been checking out how much it would cost myself. There seems to be some rounding up of your numbers (around 10 euros worth). I don't mind paying a fee for your time but would like you to be transparent.

You're aware, of course, that it's not a 1838, but a Dolch PAC (G80-1813) PCB (or maybe only the keycaps, with a different MX Blue PCB) in a G81-1800LPAUS case?fossala wrote:I'm very intrested in G80-1838 HFU if it is not too much.
I'd say over half of the Cherry keyboards on Taobao are frankensteined together like that. This one is worth nowhere near 688 yuan, which is a bit too steep even for a real 1838.

Some of 1813 is put on a G81-1800case, so I think I should put this quote on the first post, thanksmbodrov wrote:You're aware, of course, that it's not a 1838, but a Dolch PAC (G80-1813) PCB (or maybe only the keycaps, with a different MX Blue PCB) in a G81-1800LPAUS case?fossala wrote:I'm very intrested in G80-1838 HFU if it is not too much.
