Anybody else playing Guildwars 2?

I got a new addiction on the gaming front : Guildwars 2.
Ever since I stopped playing pure text muds in the 90s I was looking for a graphical mud to tease me enough to keep playing it. I thought I'd find something in EVE online, but the monthly recurring fees just forced me to stop using it.
Then I found Guildwars 2..... And got hooked. The breadth and depth are just staggering for a game like that.
So , does anybody else play this game? Maybe we could even venture together in a group called "MechKeyboarders"

Is it like this?
>wield sword
OK.
>kill orc
You hit Orc hard.
Orc swings his spear at you but misses.
You inflict tremendous damage to Orc.
Orc misses.
You hit Orc hard.
Orc misses.
You inflict tremendous damage to Orc.
Orc dies.
The corpse of Orc falls to the ground.
>get all from corpse
A spear: OK.
6 credits: OK.
An empty beer bottle: OK.

You either have beaten the space–time continuum in order to optimize your time management, or you are unemployed.

Yay for Asuras!
Having liked GW1a lot I definitely had to play GW2 as wela. Though I don't really fund much time for it (I play maybe every other weekend for a day), but even though I'm not a powerplayer I just love the details of this game.

I played a lot till level 40, but haven't gone back yet. Love my Charr necromancer though. My favorite part is how you can do dungeons with any 5 classes. My first one somehow ended up with 5 necromancers....so many minions!!

I used to play(Underworld), but the past few weeks I haven't been able to find any motivation to play it. I've done more in GW1 than I have in GW2 lately.
Two chars in 80 and almost 90% world exploration, I had a bit too much time on my hands around release...

I really love the Halloween event which takes place atm. The halloween events in GW1 were great, and GW2 is maybe even better imho. I just love the Mad King Thorn!

I just found the GW2 events confusing and haven't really bothered doing much so far. Although that might be beacuse my enthusiasm for the game in general is down.RC-1140 wrote:I really love the Halloween event which takes place atm. I did have fun doing the quests in GW1 and getting some of the hats from the events before I started playing.

I play GW2 but I didn't even reach Level 80. I'm not a hardcore player anymore.

Well, I'm not a hardcore gamer as well. My highest Char is on Level 23 currently. I don't really have time for playing, but sometimes I get to play for a few hours on the weekend.

I'm playing it and surprisingly quite enjoying it. I started to play mainly because my girlfriend is quite the fan of both Guild Wars games, and I have been enjoying it a lot. It doesn't have the other MMO games problems like you having to play the same number of hours as your friends to avoid getting out of the group because of the level mismatch, and the combats are quite dinamic compared to other MMO games. Also, the game have enough contents to be able to play on your own if you don't want all the party/VoIP thing at some moment and you can play it like an standard RPG.

I bought it, I was always underleveld so I started to do activities n stuff (I was failing my missions over and over.)
It took me a completion of 97 % to get on my recommended level.
For the next few years I'll probably stick to DOTA2
