I think that was a problem with your desk and not your chair. Normally I figure a chair would be uncomfortable after a while, if the feet can not be firmly planted on the floor (since legs dangling by the knee-joint would cut out circulation). Then the length of the torso and preferred angle of shoulders and lower arms would govern the height of the table. So the height of the table would come last in the topological order in relevance of comfort.
