Early to mid 90s computer gaming? probably all about Atari ST and Commodore Amiga, the golden age of Windows PC gaming was probably after - maybe late 90s to mid 00s. I think the golden age for PC gaming is now past, console dominates for the foreseeable future.

The Amiga 1200 was dead by 1994 wasn't it? PC gaming already had Doom. Which was as much a breakthrough for the gaming industry then as Half Life was at the end of the 90s.

I had an Amiga 1200. Loved that thing. I should really get another.

it was getting close, Playstation pretty much finished it off in '95, and N64 arrived in '96. Doom was great, but only one game and that's why I think the golden age for PC was later. Maybe '98 and Half-Life was the beginning of that era.

Really? I only played PC games as a kid.

Wing Commander, Civilization, X-com, Master of Orion. Lots of great games for PC around then.

yes, but I'm saying the best era was later. The peak for PC gaming made it as desirable, if not more desirable than consoles for most gamers. There isn't really a disagreement here, actually you and sixty are right - the earlier comment was that pc gaming has "always been dying" - it hasn't, and early-mid 90s it's definitely on the upward curve. I just confused the point by saying the 16bit (Amiga & ST) computers where the real kings of that early 90s era.

If PC gaming isn't dying why are OCN keyboard posts getting stupider?

Ah you mean "popular" or "mainstream" as opposed to "good". I can agree on that.

Lol - the Non-English Speaker Version. Amerikanski spoken that quickly is always good for a laugh.
