Will be interesting to see how high they go.
The last ones ended lower than this one, but weren't posted here.

Now it is mine ^^. It is more expensive then i hoped it would be (shame on these early bidders and bidwarefreaks -.-) but i was searching for one since some years now (prosit on the ebay search alert) without much luck (hard to find). Beside the high price i am worried about the paint damage. Never seen something similar befor on an IBM board. So now i am searching for a good condition spare part of the upper housing/case and hope i will have some luck. (Now that i have the german keycaps ( ) ... maybe it is easier to find it in any other language ... we will see *sigh* hate waiting).

Ouch, I have seen better keyboard for far less in the US (though those were Qwerty ones of course).Monster-Toys wrote:Beside the high price i am worried about the paint damage. What you see there is the real colour of the plastic, the rough surface of the model F is actually some kind of paint. It must have been scraped off through bad handling, cause I have a somewhat beaten up XT which has none of those problems...

Good point. (Viewing eBay on a 3.5 inch display, I never noticed! Newb's mistake.)
I've an XT, too, and I've played with an AT side by side. They're both tough as a brick, uh, outhouse. No small incident would have caused that kind of bruise. Hopefully it still works. The case took a hit that would have snapped most keyboards in two!

The seller said it is fully working and apart from these painting damage in good condition... i hope this is right (not so easy to believe ^^). We will see (should arrive within this week). The most important part for me are the German Keycaps and i hope they just need some cleaning.
Now i can hunt for an IBM PC AT in better condition in any language/layout ... hopefully it will not take more than two years again. Qwertz model f are harder to find then qwerty i think/hope (never searched for other than german layout until today but from now on nothing can stop me^^).
@Snoopy: And you want to donate me this model f ? ... that is sooo nice ^^ (dreaming is not forbidden ).

That's the seller from which I sniped a g81-3000 SAD, thus preventig him from shill-bidding as usual.

Obviously he stopped cheating by now, but who knows? So beware if one of those appears in the bidder list:
2***2 (460)
i***t (290)
i***n (986)
v***e (128)
Good luck guys, I won't bid on this one - I'm quite sure I would never get it even if I won the auction
