Been working on my first review already...ran into some issues with what I was using, simply due to the 30 year old hardware...

This being Deskthority, I wonder if the contest will turn out to be all vintage entries!

There it is, my entry for the review contest. I've compared three trackballs.

It felt a bit strange to post in that subforum
Also, this review contest clashes a bit with the News & reviews section.

Yes, this is the sort of clash I'd like to avoid with tags, or something like them. When is a review not a review? What exactly is that you're smoking, Dr. Freud?

those are things that surely need to be sorted out.
Kurk started the dances, guys. Great first entry, can you do better?

Are you willing to take some more pictures and add pages for the http://deskthority.net/wiki/Category:Trackballs category?Kurk wrote:There it is, my entry for the review contest. I've compared three trackballs.

Mind you, it does seem like your pictures got a low color-resolution. Pictures for the wiki can always be larger in size as Mediawiki will generate thumbnails automatically.

I only have the CST at home, the ITACs were review models and have been sent back. But I have ordered an ITAC Professional Desktop so additional pictures will be possible in a few days timeJBert wrote:Are you willing to take some more pictures and add pages for the http://deskthority.net/wiki/Category:Trackballs category?

BTW, only my hands are in low color resolution, the rest of the picture is full color. Call it paranoia but I don't like the idea of having my skin patterns posted in high-res.

To wet your appetite I just wanted to let you know that I'm adding one more prize to the "best review overall". It's a TKL keycap set and I'll make the official announcement with photos shortly.

I'll publish a review of my CM Storm Recon soon, but I hope CM is ready for some good criticism
Anyways, it's actually a complete remake of my first mice review ever (which honestly, was awful, so much biased stuff like worrying about nylon cables and other stuff) and it'll have some interesting info

This is what I like to hear!
Constructive criticism is vital. I didn't hold anything back when I recently reviewed my Ducky Shine 3, even though they sent it to me free as a layout design contest prize.
Ducky Nordic's Kayvee still liked what he read enough to give me a thumbs up. So be honest!

I must say that I'm a bit worried. I know it takes some time to make a decent review but I would have expected at least 3-4 reviews by now. I'd say that if we do not receive at least 8-10 reviews I'll nullify the contest and apologize with the sponsor.
Now the good news.
Like I said I'm adding a prize to the best review award. The winner also takes home a full set of clear caps like these:

Today I received two more rats.

Here is my entry:
http://deskthority.net/mice-other-input ... t7457.html
I've also released a Brazilian Portuguese version of it on other forum a few days ago (more specifically 08/02/2014), but this version has a few improvements and Deskthority will be the only place I'll publish the English version of it. It's not a repost since I had to edit the hell out of it and spend several hours translating (which was quite a hassle).
