TheBoard is the name of a series of keyboards that was introduced from 1986 on by the extinct German company Hohe Electronics GmbH, and the first known keyboard to feature LCD displays built into its keycaps.

Description
The keyboards featured programmable matrix LCDs on some of their keys depending on the exact model, for example on the function keys[1] or additionally the alphanumeric and symbol keys and the numeric keypad as well.[2] The LCD matrices of the keys and the scancode combinations that these keys spawned could be programmed using software running under MS-DOS.
Variants
- LC Board MF2.34 features 10 additional LCD function keys spanning two columns along the left side of the alphanumeric area (XT style). It was described on r/mk possibly using this source in German.
