The Key Tronic Professional Series Mouse is a Key Tronic–branded mouse that appears to have been manufactured by Alps Electric. It is unusual in that it uses electromechanical rotary encoders instead of the usual opto-mechanical sensors. The PCB is Alps-branded, as are the rotary encoders, while the microswitches under the buttons were sourced from Cherry.
The product label specifically states "Serial Interface", suggesting that at least one other interface was available.
Construction
The mouse is held together by easily accessible screws. Four screws secure hold the top frame, and two more secure the palm rest to the top frame; the palm rest secures the buttons in place.
The rotary encoders sit in slots in the base, and connect to the main PCB by way of a flexi PCB. The shafts from the rotary encoders sit in plastic bearing sleeves that slot into the base.
