Marquardt ("mar-kvart") is a German company, producing electronic switches and other parts. Marquardt has produced at least two types of keyboard switch, and they produced their own keyboards between 1993 and 1998. Marquardt had gained a lot of fame and media coverage for developing and producing the very first ergonomic keyboard ever. The Marquardt Mini-Ergo was released in 1993 and was the first split-design keyboard to hit the mass market.
Marquardt keyboard switches were displayed on their website until 1999, but no details were publicly displayed, and anyone wishing for details was invited to request information.[1] In 2000, their website was redesigned, and the keymodules section (whose English name is not known, as the relevant images were never archived) was reduced to only Series 6425 and Series 6450, neither of which are designed for full keyboards. The tiny photograph from 1999 depicts—amongst other products—Series 6425 and what appears to be Series 6184, the latter having been confirmed by Marquardt to have been discontinued in 2000.
