The SteelSeries 6GV2 is a mechanical keyboard from SteelSeries introduced in 2010 during CeBIT in Hanover that uses Cherry MX Black switches.[1] The 6GV2 is essentially a reduced cost version of the SteelSeries 7G, with the USB hub and audio jacks removed.
The 6GV2 uses modified ISO and ANSI layouts, with a big-ass enter key and a Japanese-style short right shift key; this is in comparison to the 7G which uses a full-size right shift, but has instead a Japanese-style single unit backspace.
The left Windows key is replaced with a SteelSeries-branded function key that may be combined with several media keys.
The 6GV2 has N-key rollover over PS/2, and 6-key rollover over USB. The keyboard comes with an USB to PS/2 adapter.
Cherry MX Red edition
In late 2011 SteelSeries introduced a new version of the keyboard with Cherry MX Red switches and a matching red coloured mounting plate.
