Regarding glued down membranes, in the Viglen 6312-TW I took apart last year, the membrane is separate from the pcb, and can be removed and safely put back with no ill-effects. On mine, there was a piece of white rubber that went on top of the membrane after it was put onto the pcb, presumably to press it into place. Mak0 (talk) 16:13, 15 August 2013 (CEST)
- Normally in a membrane keyboard, the membrane sheets are pressure contact (rubber pad to apply the pressure) or an edge connector (e.g. Apple Keyboard II Mitsumi membrane connector.jpg) — but in my Acer 6312-TW the nitwits just glued it! I do also have an older Viglen 6312, which I've never taken apart.
