Dye-sublimation PBT keycap swap compatibility
Cherry ErgoPlus never came with the Dye-sublimation PBT keycaps like most old Cherry keyboard. Swapping keys from a newer or otherwise semi-mechanical (G81) keycaps is possible however there are a few catches. This is in comparison with G81-3000 for instance:
- The spacebar is incompatible. There are no suitable PBT replacements.
- Most of the keys on the bottom row are incompatible as they used the lower profile (Profile B) keys. There are certain models that were equipped with either higher or lower profile keys but there are none suitable as noted for ErgoPlus. HAAxx series uses higher profile (Profile A) keys however the HAMxx series uses the lower profile making certain keys stand out more after the keys has been replaced. The variance in the height profiles are not limited to the keys on the bottom row but to also the modifier keys to the far right of the keyboard such as: Insert, End, Delete, etc.
xxxUS conversion
ErgoPlus came in various (mostly European but also American) layouts. However not many owners of the ISO variant are comfortable using the ISO variant and instead sought ways to convert their ErgoPlus to ANSI layout. Out of all the intentions of ISO to ANSI conversion, very few have actually attempted to convert their ErgoPlus fully due to the fact that specific knowledge to making keyboards (notably PCB) is somewhat required.
In any case, there is a thread on geekhack forums where one has asked had there been any interests to convert ISO layout to ANSI layout.

Here is a copy from wayback machine (web.archive.org) which mirrored the webpage discussing (lightly) about G80-5000 along with ergonomics. German only
PDF Manual
Deskthority wiki contributor Dirge has uploaded a copy of the windows (latter) variant manual. However, the file was never linked to any webpages neither has much information been provided on the said file in terms of licenses for instance. Link to manual (English): File:G80-5000.pdf
Virtual keyboard layout
Here are the rough visual representations of the keyboard. This mainly applies to DE ISO users due to the layout which is imposed via both the physical design as well as the machine set up. More virtual keyboard layouts are welcomed. These were made with the use of keyboard layout editor tool:
