An easy to remember template that returns a given string surrounded by square [] brackets. Useful for textual parts within references which would otherwise confuse the parser. To escape square brackets as part of an URL, you have to use HTML entities directly. For example,
<ref name="test">Area — [https://www.example.com/pi*R[squared].html {{sq|OMG}} Pi*R squared]</ref>
produces
- 1. ↑ Area — [OMG] Pi*R squared
as intended.
