Hello! I recently traded for an untested Model F XT and I'm trying to figure out if it's functional. I've cleaned it up and plan on using it with a tinkerBOY converter, but while I'm waiting for it to get here I ordered a Soarer's converter from Amazon just to test the keyboard. The first time I tried using it, nothing happened. Now, whenever I plug in the Amazon converter into my PC, I get an error balloon saying there's a power surge on the USB port (I've tried multiple ports, with and without the keyboard plugged in to the converter). I think this means the Amazon converter has a short in it, but I'm not going to bother opening it up since I can return it. Does my line of thinking sound right there? Is there any chance the keyboard has been damaged by this potentially faulty converter? Thanks!

I confirmed the converter was shorted and replaced it, now it's all working great!
