Triumph Adler Gabriele 7007L (ES Layout)

I managed to purchase a Triumph Adler Gabriele 7007L from a guy here in Spain. It has indeed Dye Sub keycaps with uncommon ES layout.

I has a keycap with L· which is only used in some words written inCatalan like col·legi = school or intel·ligent = inteligent. I was quite surprised by this when I received it last Friday.

Right now I'm cleaning the keycaps with denture tabs but they are in fantastic conditions. I will update the thread with better pictures when the keycaps are clean and have some good light to take pictures.

Those black MYs are also better than the white ones, for what it's worth. They slide more smoothly, especially when hit off-centre.

Added to the Cherry MY wiki page — slowly building up a picture of what else used these switches besides Cherry G81 series. You should upload some pictures of the switch directly to the wiki once they clean. I didn't realise the black ones were a third slider shape! (I wonder if those are as awful to disassemble as the modern white ones :)

I will take better pictures and some close up of the switches once they're clean and I have some time for it.

The typewriter is in working condition but since I'm not going to use the it I guess I could dissasemble them.

I'm only cleaning the keycaps for now.

I don't know about the black ones, but the modern white ones have no fewer than four simultaneous pieces of plastic preventing the slider coming out. When you finally manage it, the spring fires out.

I wasn't expecting you to disassemble it, just illustrate it having a third slider shape. (WTF Cherry? ;-)

I got a nice surprise today with a Triumph Adler CompacTA 600 that also has MY Linear switches.

It has Dye Sub keycaps and AWESOME MY linear switches that feel fantastic, almost as vintage MX Black.

I didn't need to open any switch because there is a key that uses a switch as stabiliser with a different Stem so it doesn't activate the switch. I can see how it's made and will take pictures of it so everyone can see innards of the switch.

They don't use any spring and instead use some kind of metal leaf in the bottom left of the switch. They feel fantastic and nothing to do with the ones that 7007L has. This typewriter was in better condition and must be because of that that the switches feel way better.

Will post the pictures once I've cleaned all the keys.

Nice find I was researching the 110 and 110 DS a while ago since there were some in the neighborhood and they had the blue dyesub caps like this one, but they were not MX compatible. Something square for a stem with a large diameter spring underneath.

All MY switches have a weird elongated diamond leaf; the … elbow, if you like … of the leaf appears to be what presses on the membrane. Very subtle, as it only protrudes by a very small amount — I tried to capture it in photographs, but it's hard to prove in photos what it does. This leaf spring is reported to be 20–25 cN. (It's on my to-post list.)

Inside the switch is a normal helical spring that provides most of the force.

You may of course have something else we don't know about, although Cherry didn't burn through designs like Alps did.

got mine, my backspace is doubleshot light blue as the only key, rest are dyesub - the typewriter was basically nib, not even the slightest dust in it, thus the caps are in very good condition.
i am maybe getting around 40 more of these typewriters, sets will be found in marketplace if i can get them.

haven't tried any my switches before so i really can't tell if they are ordinary ones or different. can take a closer photo of them though, i'll edit in a few.

Yes it is shocking some people do not care about the wiki as much as you. Just be happy they supplied something for you and make use of it for the wiki yourself if it is important to you for it to be there.
People also might be more helpful to you if you ask can you take picture of X for the wiki, if they do you, just say thank you and make your entry and stop expecting everyone to become wiki authors. Some people are simply not interested in it. If you feel you are being over worked making wiki entry, slow down or take a break instead of getting upset.

It's not for himself. It's an open wiki, Daniel gives away all his work. While I agree with the sentiment it is not as important for everyone, it is however an important work - the wiki is a hit and is used by many as standard reference and research material. So Daniel is pushing the wiki, not his own thing. That Daniel is a poor motivator is a different issue. I think you should allow him some grumpiness from time to time, but still think he makes an error if he seeks motivation from parallel community effort on specific wiki subjects, for the reasons you guys mentioned here. Not that he should stop asking for contributions (on the contrary), but be less disappointed when not enough people are into something at the same time. Still not necessarily a bad thing Daniel. Do you think Asimov complained about having to write every god damn page himself? You gotta learn to enjoy your writing and your research more. And people do help. In any case I greatly value your contributions and what the wiki is becoming.

I've already decided to quit everything but Alps and the photos I've yet to upload (I have a colossal backlog of work already). People are always happy to use a reference, but the existence of a reference is of course magic — it just happens to be there. How convenient, that …

For what it's worth, Sandy has given his consent (well, his website already does) to post his photos. See existing examples for suitable imagedesc usage.

Also, we're allowed to use MouseFan's photos, so long as they're for public, non-commercial use. Sandy suggested that we 'put a note something like "great thanks to Mousefan providing pictures and information ..." or such somewhere in wiki page or any appropriate space.'" This should all be communicated via appropriate use of the imagedesc template.

As for Asimov as an example — that's absurd. He made it all up. I'd love to just make up everything, but sadly our knowledge base is constrained to being concerned with the facts.
