I like the white-minimalistic theme of deskthority although I hope someday this website gets a lot more traffic like of geekhack. I'm assuming the two can't just get along. One will have to die for the other to survive.
Which will it be?

Deskthority is better because it has more stylish avatars.

I always look at things sideway by tilting my head left. So to me it looks like somebody's ass with an UP arrow.
Or "Crackup".
Such a serious forum.

Geekhack has an XSS attack with a Java/Windows Help center exploit at this time (both vulnerabilities are patched , but a lot of people don't update, and GH shouldn't have unauthorized 3rd party JS running), so I guess that gives an automatic point to Deskthority...

Better than OCN. Viruses you patch. Stupid is harder to fix.
I like the Avatar btw. I spit on Java exploits because I do, the Voodoo, That You Do, So Well.

Sorry, but I prefer it the other way round:Brian8bit wrote:When organising group buys just tell people to STFU. "This is what's getting ordered, are you in or out?". Like the KBC poker buy right now. Sure, people can whine all they want about not having ISO available. Fuck em. Clearly the buy isn't for them. If we'd of had a thread asking "We're thinking about making an order for a customised Deskthority keyboard. What would you like in a custom Deskthority keyboard" it would be 72 pages long and filled with pictures of japanese and korean women, over used memes and we'd never get anything done.
Make possible for almost everybody what could be made possible.
Reason: I cant expect too many people have my weird taste in how key caps should look like and what text should be on them.
Solution: Give other's weird tastes a chance.
Result: 52,000 key caps in less than 6 months!

The per key speed of Round 3 is higher than Round 1!sixty wrote:... round two ended in a disaster. Round 3 started well, then took 6 months and now feels like its never happening, with more variants and more confusing sets than alps colors.

Start: 15 Dec 2010
Start of production: 4 April 2011
Start of shipping: around 3rd to 4th week of May.

It is 100% certain that 7bit will win, because 8bit will have compatibility issues!itlnstln wrote:7bit vs. 8bit! Who will win!?7bit wrote:...Brian8bit wrote:...

Edit: Also, he contradicts himself, because he gives more choices than me!

Well, I FOR ONE found the subject fascinating.
Plus I'm pissed because that thread was a logical place to talk about what plastic the Cherry MX switch is made of.

At least he posted in the right forum (nobody at Deskthority owns a good Imperial ruler). I measured it but wasn't going to post it until I got some info out of him.
